The Winthrop Improvement & Historical Association's monthly dinner meetings are held on the first Tuesday of the month from Oct-June, except January.

Due to the harsh winter conditions, the Winthrop Improvement and Historical Association’s March dinner meeting will be canceled.
We shall do our best to bring Will Watson back to talk about the harsh conditions of civilians during the siege of Boston 250 years ago, here at Point Shirley. Not sure if we’ll be able to duplicate the corned beef and cabbage 🥬 dinner, but it’s something to be discussed with the chef.
Our next dinner meeting is on track for the first Tuesday in April, with lifelong resident Frank Costintino, whom always brings fascination to the barn with anything that he does.
On a sidenote. For those of you that had to deal with no heat for a few days, my question for you is, how did they do it at the 1637 Deane Winthrop House year after year?

Due to the given conditions of no parking in the vicinity of the Deane Winthrop Barn
The membership monthly dinner meeting will be cancelled.
Airing on the side of caution for our members, the board felt it was a safety concern with all the snow and ice. This will be a big disappointment to all of our members that we’re looking forward to hearing Winthrop native Frank Costintino give a lecture on his artwork and also relating to the famous strawberry festival piece that is highly sought after. On a positive note we will get Frank to return in the spring.
So this is to confirm that February 3, 2026 dinner meeting has been canceled.

What a great dinner and meeting we had the other night.

Please join us Tue Oct 7th for our monthly member's dinner from Spinelli's and guest speaker.

This month speaker is Graeme Marsden from the First Foot Guards , a revolution war reenactment group. Graeme will be presenting life a as surgeon during the Revolutionary War... he will be full dressed in colonial fashion with all the tools of the trade from that era. Be prepared to see what and how people were treated back then.

The meeting starts at 6:15 and will end about 9:00 pm.

Please call WIHA at (617)846-8606 to make a reservation by Sunday Oct 5th, Dinners are $22.

Membership is a whopping $40 a year and is the best deal in town. Please send us a message for more information on joining.

Thank you to the entire Winthrop community for such a wonderful turnout at last Saturday's Strawberry Festival. Even with our wonderful ongoing rainy Saturdays we have been having, over 550 people attended this years festival. We really feel blessed by you all!!!

It is a with a heavy heart that I am posting the drink menu for this Saturday's Strawberry Festival. At WIHA we try to included local business as much as we can. Drop Zone Brewery has been with us for the festival the last 3 years and they will unfortunately be closing their doors the same day as the festival.
