‼️⚠️Sledder Safety Post⚠️‼️ Harts Pass and Hwy 20 Don’t let your guard down. Those persistent slabs will be waking up and reactivating with new snow loads. It should be a serious concern and surprisingly large avalanches may occur triggered by cornice Falls, snowmobiles or small avalanches. All of those things apply more force to the snow pack and can then step down to trigger the persistence slab. Make sure to check NWAC to see the details and well worth watching the Muskoka video to see how easy it is to get caught off guard in terrain you would not expect to avalanche either.

Harts Pass will be closed/ ALL access closure as of April 1st 2026. This closure comes from the Forest Service to address the storm damage from last fall. It may be hard to tell the scope of the damage while riding the trails with snow. However, there is some concerning high bank sluffing happening that needs to be addressed. This is deemed a high priority closure and the forest service will get the necessary work done in order to reopen as quickly as possible.

Have you been riding Harts Pass recently??? Send info and photos of trail conditions asap. Trying to plan late season plowing and grooming.
