Courtesy Boat Inspectors are back for the season! Remember to always check your boat before and after it goes into the water. Clean, Drain, and Dry your boat, and don't forget to say hi to the friendly CBI's who are here to help.

Also, please be mindful that some waterbodies in our watershed are being managed for Aquatic Invasive Species. You can help by avoiding any buoys, cleaning your propeller between locations on the lake, and respecting the regulations around our two Surface Use Restriction areas on Annabessacook Lake. Your consideration and support are greatly appreciated!

Update on the Cobbossee Watershed's current Surface Use Restrictions (SUR):

Both SURs on Annabessacook Lake (Waugan Rd and North End) have been signed and renewed for 2026 by the Commissioners of the Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife and the Maine Department of Environmental Protection.

These restrictions are in place to allow ongoing Aquatic Invasive Species removal and management of Variable Leaf Milfoil. SURs are beneficial in reducing the spread of these species while control efforts take place and help protect the entire waterbody as efforts continue.

To learn more about the aquatic invasive species in our watershed and to find a copy of the 2026 SUR notice, please check our website: https://www.watershedfriends.org/ais-watershed-map-and-resources
