Our chapter was proud to serve local farmers and ag businesses yesterday during our annual Meals in the Field event.

Thank you to our chapter members and Alumni members for your help to make the day a success!

THANK YOU to our area businesses and farmers - we wish you a safe harvest season!

We did 86 pork dinners, 17 large pizzas and 11 cookie trays! 👏👏👏 for a total of 144 hungry FFA supporters!!!!

On September 30th, EB FFA members competed at the Northeast District Soils evaluation contest at Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo.

Eric Tempus was our highest individual placing 38th out of 247 total contestants!

Eric Tempus, Leah Kleve, and Claire Reiling placed 46th as a team, earning a Silver rating.

Kaleb Saunders, Owen Kress and Blake Rosburg placed 67th and earning a Bronze rating.

Congrats and great job representing our chapter!

On Saturday, September 26th, 5 EB FFA members teamed up with other volunteers to help the family of Barb Lindsay and Tracy Blackmer at Gardening for Good!

Together they harvested 2 acres of squash that is donated to the Northeast Iowa Food Bank.

This was a great way to help make a difference to help fight hunger for families close to home 💙💛

Last Tuesday (September 22nd), we had a great time at the Buchanan County Rural Farm Safety Day, at Heartland Acres in Independence!

• Sara, Lydia and Lexie presented water safety
• Kyle, Eric, Ryan and Brennan presented hand tool safety.

Thank you Buchanan County Extension for having us and allowing us to present!

Friday (September 25th), 8 EB students traveled to the Northeast District FFA Greenhand Fire-Up at Waverly - Shell Rock.

Students attended work workshops on authenticity, balancing priorities, communication, and FFA opportunities, in order to provide the first-year FFA members with skills they would use both within and outside of FFA.

The goal was to engage FFA members in learning about the tools that would allow them to be successful in anything they are part of through high school and beyond.

at the EB HS Greenhouse
