Moms know what's at stake. They know what happens when a job doesn't pay enough, childcare is too expensive, healthcare costs are off the charts, or our water runs out — because they're the ones who pick up the pieces.
This weekend in Omak, we showed up for moms, just like they show up for us. With brunch and flowers, we told stories of how unstoppable moms are when they stick together. Just look at Kendra, one of our community organizers. When our representative voted to give a tax break to the rich instead of protecting the Medicaid her kid relies on, she got her neighbors to write him letters demanding he do better. In fact, she told him right to his face that he let us down. That's what moms do.
To all the moms out there, we thank you for holding the line for all of us.

Las madres saben lo que está en juego. Saben por qué pasa cuando un trabajo no paga lo suficiente, la guardería es demasiado cara, el seguro médico está por las nubes o se nos acaba el agua — porque son ellos quienes recogen los pedazos.
Este fin de semana en Omak, nos presentamos para las mamás, al igual que ellos aparecen para nosotros. Con brunch y flores, contamos historias de lo imparables que son las mamás cuando se quedan juntas. Ya mira a Kendra, una de nuestras organizadoras comunitarias. Cuando nuestro representante votó para dar una exención de impuestos a los ricos en lugar de proteger el Medicaid en el que depende su hijo, ella hizo que sus vecinos le escribieran cartas exigiendo que lo hiciera mejor. De hecho, ella le dijo directamente a su cara que él nos decepcionó. Eso es lo que hacen las mamás.
