🌎♻️ Earth Day Community Cleanup – Join Us Tomorrow! ♻️🌎

The Winterville Civitan Club is giving a big call out to everyone who wants to make a difference this Earth Day! 🌱

📍 Where: Winterville Elementary
🕡 When: Tomorrow April 22 at 6:30 PM

We’ll be coming together for a community trash pickup to help keep our town clean and beautiful. All supplies will be provided — gloves, buckets, grabbers, and more — so all you need to bring is yourself and a willingness to help!

Let’s work together to care for our community and our planet. Hope to see you there!

🚨 WINTER WEATHER ALERT – EMERGENCY SHELTER INFORMATION 🚨
The Winterville Police Department urges residents to prepare for dangerous winter weather and icy conditions expected this weekend. Travel may become hazardous, and power outages are possible.
❄️ Emergency Shelter Operations ❄️
The Winterville Cultural Center will operate as an Emergency Shelter:
🕓 Saturday: Opens at 4:00 p.m.
🕛 Sunday: Open until 12:00 p.m.
➡️ Conditions will be reassessed Sunday morning, and shelter operations may be extended through Monday if needed.
🛏️ Shelter Details:
• Beds and bedding available for 14 people
• Backup heating sources
• Basic food supplies available
• Additional guests will be accommodated if possible
Residents are encouraged to shelter at home if it is safe to do so.
If you plan to stay at the shelter, please bring an extra pillow, blanket, or sleeping bag if available.

Heads up to everyone, be careful with the severe winter weather this weekend. And remember our Winterville Cultural Center is an emergency shelter perfect for such cases if you need a safe warm place with power. Stay warm and safe!

We are sadly canceling our open house this Saturday due to the threat of bad weather. If the weather is as bad as it looks like, we will be open as an emergency shelter. More on that to come. Y'all stay safe and warm our there!

The 2026 Winterville Snowflake was a huge success. Thank you to all of the runners who came out despite the rainy forecast. Thankfully the rain held off and we ended up having great weather for the race.

Huge thanks to Classic Race Services, Winterville public safety officials and all of our amazing volunteers. We couldn't have done it without you. See you next year!
