Grab & Go Kits are BACK at Madison County Extension! We’re excited to bring back our Grab & Go Kits — fun, hands-on educational activities designed for youth to take home, explore, and build new skills! Madison County Extension sponsors these kits, making them available at no cost to families in our community! You do not have to be a 4-H member to participate. These activities are for youth throughout our entire community. September’s Grab & Go Kit celebrates the fall harvest! Youth will create their own colorful beaded corn using beads and pipe cleaners while learning about corn, harvest season, and the important role corn plays in Iowa agriculture. It’s a fun, hands-on way to learn about agriculture while creating something of your own! Kits are available first come, first served, so swing by the Madison County Extension office and grab yours while they last!

🛍️ Want to show off your Madison County 4-H pride?

Our online 4-H apparel store is now open! Families can use the store to purchase additional 4-H apparel if they would like.

A few important things to know:

👕 This apparel store is completely optional. The items available through this store are not the required shirt for exhibiting at the Madison County Fair.

📅 The online store will be open through November 1.

📦 Jones Creek Apparel will not begin printing orders until the store closes. This means that even if you place your order today, apparel will not be available until approximately mid-November.

🏠 If you select pickup at meeting when ordering, the Extension Office will receive the completed orders and distribute them to club leaders. Club leaders will then get the orders to families at the next club meeting.

🌟 Congratulations, Sara Hawk! 🌟

Madison County 4-H is incredibly proud to celebrate Sara Hawk, who was inducted into the Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame at the Iowa State Fair! 🎉💚

Since becoming a 4-H leader in 2020, Sara has made an incredible impact on our youth, families, and program. As the leader of the Ohio Future Feeders, she has helped the club grow tremendously while creating a welcoming place for new families to get involved in 4-H and livestock.

Sara is always willing to jump in and help wherever she is needed. Her positivity, “can-do” attitude, and dedication to helping youth succeed make her an invaluable part of Madison County 4-H.

We are so proud of Sara and grateful for everything she does for 4-H! Congratulations on this well-deserved honor, Sara! 👏💚

Hey Winterset Parents! Not sure what to do with your kids during the Friday early outs in the coming school year? Let us help you turn those Friday early-outs into the best part of the week! 🎉

The Warehouse on 2nd is excited to offer Friday Adventure Club, a supervised after-school enrichment program designed for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade, giving kids a safe, active, and engaging place to spend their afternoons during those Winterset Community Schools early Friday dismissals.

PROGRAM DETAILS:
Who: Winterset Students in Kindergarten through 8th Grade
When: Friday Early-Out Days
Time: 1:30–4:00 PM
Where: The Warehouse on 2nd
Cost: $360 for the full 30-week program (just $12 per week!) or $15 per drop-in visit (space permitting).

EVERY FRIDAY INCLUDES:
🍎 A healthy afternoon snack
☀️ Outdoor play and recreation (weather permitting)
🎲 Games, team-building activities, crafts, STEM projects, and creative challenges
📚 Special enrichment programs presented by community partners including:
Madison County Conservation Board
Madison County Extension & 4-H, Iowa
Winterset Public Library

No two Fridays will be exactly alike!

EXPERIENCED LEADERSHIP:
The program is directed by veteran educator Megan Barrett, who brings years of experience working with children and creating engaging learning environments.

Daily supervision will be provided by responsible, carefully selected high school juniors and seniors who enjoy working with younger students and serve as positive role models.

MORE THAN CHILDCARE:
Friday Fun Club is designed to keep kids active, curious, creative, and connected. Whether they're exploring nature, building STEM projects, playing cooperative games, reading with guest presenters, or making new friends, students will head home each week with great memories—and parents can enjoy the convenience of reliable after-school care.

PAYMENT OPTIONS:
1. Tuition paid in Full - $360
2. Ten installments of $36 - First installment due at registration, then on the first of the month September-May
