The community has voted, and the results are in! Winterset Art Center showcased an incredible showing of local talent during our "Plane Air" Art Contest.

Six talented local artists brought the 2026 Fly Iowa Festival to life, submitting a total of 10 stunning art entries that captured the beauty of that day at Winterset's airfield.

After a day of enthusiastic public voting, our community selected the crowd favorite. Angela Chapman secured 1st place and the $100 grand prize, followed by Jane Dawson in 2nd place and John Counterman in 3rd place.

Thank you to all the artists who participated and to everyone in the community who cast their votes and supported local art!

During the upcoming Madison County Covered Bridge Festival, the Winterset Art Center will be open on Saturday, October 10th, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. This is the perfect opportunity to pick up one of the custom coffee mugs by Carolyn Klein. The Art Center is located on the south side of the square, 224 S John Wayne Dr.
