Weather permitting, the Huskies will be playing at the Field of Dreams on June 17th.

First-Inning Spurt Lead Winterset Varsity Baseball Past Des Moines North

Winterset Varsity Baseball scored eight runs in the first inning, which helped them defeat Des Moines North 11-1 on Thursday at Winterset High School. Max Breeding singled, scoring one run, a wild pitch scored one run, Wyatt Swanson singled, scoring one run, Carson Cook drew a walk, scoring one run, Jack Keller hit a sacrifice fly, scoring two runs, and Ben Porter doubled, scoring two runs.

Des Moines North opened the scoring in the first after #21 singled, scoring one run.

Winterset Varsity Baseball added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Des Moines North committed an error, and Cam Sheffield singled to center field, each scoring one run.

Winterset Varsity Baseball added one run in the third. Ben Porter walked, making the score 11-1.

Jack Keller started on the hill for Winterset Varsity Baseball. The pitcher allowed four hits and one run over five innings, striking out seven and walking three.

Grant Heithoff led Winterset Varsity Baseball with two hits in two at bats from the leadoff position. Max Breeding, Cam Sheffield, Wyatt Swanson, Ben Porter, and Jack Keller each drove in one run for Winterset Varsity Baseball. Grant Heithoff, Carson Cook, and Ben Porter each stole multiple bases for Winterset Varsity Baseball.

Winterset Varsity Baseball will travel to Van Meter for their next game on Friday.

First-Inning Spurt Lead Winterset Varsity Baseball Past Des Moines North

Winterset Varsity Baseball defeated Des Moines North 11-0 on Thursday at Winterset High School thanks in part to eight runs in the first inning. Reed Smith doubled, scoring one run, Ben Porter doubled, scoring one run, Wyatt Swanson singled, scoring one run, Jack Keller singled, scoring two runs, a dropped third strike scored one run, Grant Heithoff singled, scoring one run, and Reed Smith doubled, scoring one run.

An error extended the Winterset Varsity Baseball lead to 9-0 in the bottom of the second inning.

Riley Akers stepped on the bump first for Winterset Varsity Baseball. The hurler allowed one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out six and walking one. Memphis Brooks threw two innings of no-run ball for Winterset Varsity Baseball in relief. The righty gave up zero hits, striking out four and walking one.

Winterset Varsity Baseball piled up 10 hits in the game. Reed Smith and Drake McDonald each collected two hits for Winterset Varsity Baseball. Reed Smith, Wyatt Swanson, and Jack Keller each drove in two runs for Winterset Varsity Baseball. Grant Heithoff stole two bases. Winterset Varsity Baseball ran wild on the base paths, collecting five stolen bases for the game. Winterset Varsity Baseball were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Reed Smith made the most plays with seven.

Swanson Puts On Strong Contact Performance As Winterset Varsity Baseball Take The Win Over Carroll Varsity Tigers

Wyatt Swanson collected three hits in four at bats, as Winterset Varsity Baseball defeated Carroll Varsity Tigers 14-4 on Wednesday at Winterset High School. Wyatt Swanson singled in the sixth inning, singled in the third inning, and singled in the fifth inning.

Carroll Varsity Tigers opened the scoring in the first after #3 doubled, scoring two runs.

Winterset Varsity Baseball jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the third inning after Max Breeding doubled down the left field line, Ben Porter grounded out, Drake McDonald flew out, and Cam Sheffield flew out, each scoring one run.

Winterset Varsity Baseball scored seven runs on four hits in the bottom of the sixth inning. Max Breeding singled, scoring one run, Carson Cook drew a walk, scoring one run, Wyatt Swanson singled, scoring two runs, Cam Sheffield hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and Reed Smith doubled, scoring two runs.

Grant Heithoff started on the mound for Winterset Varsity Baseball. The hurler gave up six hits and three runs (two earned) over four innings, striking out four and walking one. #3 opened the game for Carroll Varsity Tigers. The hurler surrendered two hits and five runs (two earned) over three innings, striking out one and walking four. Max Breeding appeared in relief for Winterset Varsity Baseball.

Reed Smith, Wyatt Swanson, and Ben Porter each drove in two runs for Winterset Varsity Baseball. Max Breeding collected two hits for Winterset Varsity Baseball in three at bats. Reed Smith paced Winterset Varsity Baseball with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, piling up eight walks for the game. Evan Osborn and Wyatt Swanson each stole multiple bases for Winterset Varsity Baseball. Winterset Varsity Baseball ran wild on the base paths, accumulating 10 stolen bases for the game.
