The MCLI Class of 2019 kicked off the year with a meet and greet held earlier this month! The class was separated into teams and challenged to use clues to find different locations around town in an "Amazing Race" sort of fashion.

The Madison County Leadership Institute (MCLI) is pleased to announce we are now accepting applications for the 2019 class.

Through a unique nine months, students will engage in interactive classroom sessions and networking opportunities designed specifically to assist emerging leaders. Classes include training on a wide variety of leadership skills including personality traits, effective communication, conflict resolution, business budgeting, business etiquette, and parliamentary procedures. The class will also learn about key leadership opportunities throughout Madison County including governmental, emergency management, education, and agriculture.

This course is a wonderful preparation tool for individuals who are interested in leadership opportunities either within their own organizations, or within the community such as non-profit boards, school or hospital boards, government positions, etc.

The cost for the program is $450. Classes take place once a month on Thursday afternoons from October 2018 through June 2019, with additional time allocated for team building and project planning. Class size is limited, so please act fast. Applications are due by Monday, September 3rd. For more information or to obtain an application, please email [email protected] or call Michelle Leonard at (515) 494-3560

On Tuesday, June 5th the 2018 MCLI Class received their plaques for completing the MCLI Course. Participants and their Sponsors were invited to attend social hour followed by a short program. Part of the MCLI program is for the class to design and implement a project to benefit the community.

This year’s class has been working hard on the beginning stages of a Disk Golf Course. The class has spent a lot of time attending board meetings, meeting with local supporters and collaborating with an Iowa Disk Golf Course Designer and Consultant. The MCLI class learned a lot this year and they are excited to continue with their project. The Madison County Leadership Board would like to thank all the participants and their sponsors for supporting our organization. Congrats on a great year!

If you or someone you know may be interested in participating in next years class feel free to contact us, it’s never too early to get signed up!
