One year ago today, we opened our Play for ALL Inclusive Playground within Historic City Park thanks in part to public/private partnership between Winterset Parks and Recreation and Rotary Club of Winterset. This project could not have been completed without the generosity of our community who contributed to this amazing project as we were able to raise over $1,000,00 in only 6 months!!! This shows how much Winterset truly values the unique abilities that we all have!!!! We want to celebrate by sharing photos of EVERYONE enjoying our playground so we we are asking you to send us your favorite photo of our inclusive playground, for a chance to win a FREE 2025 Family Pool Pass! Submit your photos to [email protected] for a chance to win! All photos submitted need to be 1MB or greater. By submitting photo(s) you agree for the City of Winterset to use your photo for marketing purposes. Deadline for photo submission is Monday April 26th, 2025.

We are currently hydroseeding areas around the Play for ALL - Winterset all-inclusive playground in City Park and have new grass growing! We ask that you please stay off the grass and use the main entry to the playground.

🥳The Rotary Club of Winterset and Winterset Parks and Recreation would like to invite you to attend our official grand opening of our All - Inclusive playground this Saturday April 6th!!!

The celebration will begin at 12:00 pm with brief remarks by city officials, members of the fundraising committees, and parents of little ones for whom the equipment is especially meaningful. Hot dogs, chips, and face painting will accent the celebration, free of charge (while supplies last)

We would encourage you to carpool if you are planning on attending. The main parking east of the playground will be designated for ADA parking only.

It didn’t take long for everyone to notice that the playground is now open!🤩

Thanks to Winterset Parks and Recreation and the Rotary Club of Winterset for the public/private partnership to bring this project to our community!

Thank you to those who donated, fundraised, and worked behind the scenes to secure grant funds!

We would like to invite everyone to our GRAND OPENING on Saturday April 6th, consisting of a short program, Official Ribbon Cutting and free hotdogs/chips (while supplies last) and Free facepainting!!!

Yes, this is Iowa, and this is still Winter, so the restrooms are winterized and not open at this time, as our goal is to have water on to our parks by April 1st so please plan accordingly. When our restrooms are open, visitors will have access to a Height Adjustable Changing Table!!

We wanted to provide an update on our playground!

Before the temps fell, and before we received 2ft of snow, we were able to replace the concrete slabs!!!! Right now we are working with our playground representative to schedule the crew to come back in and finish up the safety surface installation as well as installation of our donor sign. We are getting close, however we do ask that you still stay off of the playground until it is open :)

We wanted to share a quick update on our all- inclusive playground (Albeit not the best news). Late last week, we determined that the concrete slabs/walkways were not up to standards. We had a construction meeting and decided that it would be best for us to remove the slabs sooner rather than later, in hopes that we can be ready to pour back, when crews are not busy at other job sites and or the weather allows us to. We also kindly ask that you please refrain from entering the playground area as it still is a construction site and not ready for play. Our grand opening will now be pushed back to the Spring of 2024. The good news is when this project is complete, our community will have one of the best playgrounds in the region!!
