Winters Police Officers Association

Winters Police Officers Association The Winters Police Officers' Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the community of Winters.

Last night, the Winters Police Officers’ Association, alongside the Winters Middle Management and Miscellaneous Employees Associations, spoke before the City Council to raise serious, ongoing concerns regarding workplace conditions and City leadership. Topics raised included, but were not limited to, unresolved hostile work environment complaints, working conditions, staffing shortages, and a lack of transparency between the city and association boards.

After exhausting internal resolution efforts, including active EEOC complaints, the associations are turning to the City Council, media, and the community for transparency and accountability. The residents of Winters deserve to know about issues that may affect the services they rely on. We encourage residents to stay informed, participate in City Council meetings, and engage with local leadership to help ensure transparency, accountability, and quality public service.

Below is a link to the recording of the speeches given by representatives of the three bargaining groups.

Congratulations Officer Brown!

On Thursday night, the American Legion Yolo Post 77 hosted its annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Night recognizing the officers of the year from each Yolo County law enforcement agency, including Winters Police Department’s Officer Brown.

Sgt Ramos presented Officer Brown with his 2024 Officer of the Year Certificate and noted Officer Brown has been proactive on patrol, received two commendation certificates from Winters High School for help during events, trains with the Yolo County Crisis Negotiation Team, and assists with public events.

We would like to thank the American Legion for hosting the event and thank their members and all veterans for their service. Your service to our country is what allows us the opportunity to serve our communities.
