When you hear "Polk County Sheriff's Office", Sheriff Grady Judd is probably the first thing that comes to mind.

For us, while we also think of Sheriff Grady Judd, we also think of an agency that support their community and stands by the families of their fallen heroes.

We are beyond appreciative and honored to share that the Polk Sheriff's Charities has once again joined our cause by becoming a Bronze Sponsor for our 5th Annual Blue Tie Gala taking place on Saturday, Nov. 7th at the Altamonte Springs Hilton!

Thank you to the men and women who serve Polk County, to Sheriff Grady Judd, and to everyone who is a part of the Polk Sheriff's Charities for the work you do!

Who is next!?

$5 or more each month is all it takes to have the title of "Running 4 Heroes Champion".

We are looking to do even more to show our appreciation to the handful of you that have committed to making a $5/mo. contribution for the mission.

Today, we are hoping to grow our Champion base by 5 new monthly donors, and we'd love for one of those donors to be you.

Anyone who signs up to be a new Running 4 Heroes Champion today will receive a Running 4 Heroes shirt and decal as a token of our appreciation. It truly is our monthly donors who make the work we do possible, and we are forever grateful for all of you who support our mission in that way.

To become a Champion, simply go to the Running 4 Heroes website, click "donate", and then select the "monthly" option.

Whether you sign up at $5, $10, $25, or $50-$100 - every dollar is what makes the work we do possible.

Chief Bradley Taylor, The Everyday Life Of Deputy Bryan Woodard, and Trooper Steve all together in one room?

While we can't wait to hear from these three heroes, what will be even more powerful is hearing from injured Brevard County Sheriff's Office Deputy Brian Potters, who was a recipient of our Injured First Responder Grant after his brush with death while on duty, as well as the brother of fallen Orlando Police Department Officer Kevin Valencia, who was tragically lost after his heroic fight after being struck by gunfire and honored by our Founder with a 1-mile run.

As part of the evening, we will be recognizing our three Youth Runners who will be aging out this year - Andrew, Zachary, and Michael, who have collectively logged over 241 miles in honor of our fallen and rising.

Our 5th Annual Blue Tie Gala is shaping up to be a beautiful night of honor, respect, and comradery as we remember those who gave it all while supporting the mission that will keep that honor alive mile after mile, and grant after grant.

Sponsorship Opportunities are open, and tickets remain available at just $50 for First Responders/Survivors and $75 for General Admission. All attendees will receive a meal and commemorative challenge coin, and will hear stories of honor, sacrifice, bravery, and support.

Will you join us?

Did you know?

To date, our youth runners have now logged 2,251 miles to honor fallen First Responders and K9s. Individual mile counts are down below for those interested in seeing the numbers per runner.

These kids have also awarded $502,675 in grants to Injured First Responders, $358,628 in funding to surviving families, and over $50,000 in equipment to K9s.

Since our Youth Runner Scholarship was announced, $17,750 has been set aside to help fund the future education of our incredible runners, with $2,378 of those funds having already been paid out to two of our incredible runners who are either dual-enrolled or finishing up their piloting school.

In the last week, over $2,000 has been pledged between a surviving family and a Depuy Injured in the Line of Duty.

Running 4 Heroes isn't just an organization that says it does great work. It is an organization that ensures that great work is done publicly - every run ever conducted is recorded and shared along with every grant ever awarded.

What makes our story even more incredible is that most of the work has been done without corporate sponsorships, without large dollar grants, and without a wide range of monthly donors. In fact, Running 4 Heroes has less than 100 supporters who contribute monthly - though it is those monthly donors who have made the work we do possible, and we remain grateful to the 95 individuals who continue to give each month.

With the recent change in our Tribute Hall and having a business sublease our warehouse, Running 4 Heroes is paving the way to do even more for our heroes, but we would love to see more monthly supporters stepping up and helping us continue the work.

We would also love to add 4-5 more Youth Runners to our incredible group of kids that understand the importance of honoring our fallen.

If you would like to step up and join our list of monthly donors, or if you have a child that would like to help us continue the promise of honoring our fallen with a one-mile run, please let us know!

This mission is only possible because of folks like you.

Thank you to everyone who has continued to stand by our mission. There is much good yet to be done.

Earlier today, Youth Runner Liam had the honor of visiting the Uxbridge Police Department in Massachusetts. While there, he was recognized by the Chief and Lieutenant and show appreciation in honor of the 1-mile run that he conducted for their fallen hero.

Uxbridge Police Officer Stephen LaPorta, 43, was killed in the line of duty on January 7, 2026, after being struck by a tractor-trailer on Route 146 Northbound while assisting a motorist. Liam honored him shortly after.

Today, as part of that visit, Liam presented the flag he carried to honor Officer LaPorta.

Liam is such a wonderful ambassador of our mission, and it does our hearts a lot of good when our runners have opportunities like these to see and feel how important these runs are to so many.

ANNOUNCEMENT:

On March 2nd, 2026, Deputy Jose Rivera and members of the Volusia Sheriff's Office in Florida were investigating a reported vandalism on a woman's car.

While on scene, a man opened fire on the deputies, firing 12-rounds at Deputy Rivera and his partner. During the gunfire, Deputy Rivera was struck twice - once in his thigh, and once in his chest, the bullet hitting his camera and ricocheting into his shoulder.

Immediately, aid was rendered to Deputy Rivera and tourniquets were placed on his wounds before he was transported to a local hospital. After a few days, Deputy Rivera was released to recover at home but has since returned to the hospital due to complications as a result of the injuries he sustained.

Running 4 Heroes stands by Deputy Jose Rivera during his recovery as well as the heroes of the Volusia Sheriff's Office credited for saving his life.

It is our honor to announce today that Running 4 Heroes will be pledging $1,500 towards his recovery efforts as part of our Injured First Responder Grant program.

With this grant, Running 4 Heroes has now awarded 59 grants to injured First Responders totaling $502,675.

Our prayer is that Deputy Jose Rivera is able to recover quickly, and that support like this continues to relieve some of the financial burdens that we know will stack up due to the unexpected medical expenses associated with his injury.

If you would like to help support additional grants like this, you can do so by visiting www.running4heroes.org and selecting "donate".

Between now and the end of the day on Saturday, March 21st, 50% of every dollar we raise via one-time donations on our website will be added to the $1,500 total.

Together, we are standing in support of our men and women who risk it all, and we thank our supporters for helping making grants like these possible.
