Introduce them to opportunities. Involve them in your growth. Give them a seat at the table.

Kids today are advanced—we know this. They’re exposed to more, learning faster, and navigating a world that looks very different from the one we grew up in.

They don’t need to keep up with us. We need to meet them where they are.

Listen to them. Challenge them. Expose them to new possibilities. Give them the tools, guidance, mentorship, and support they need to discover who they can become.

Because helping a young person reach their full potential isn’t a one-person job.

In partnership with Good Tone Studios, youth ages 10–18 will spend the day inside a real recording studio learning from music industry professionals through hands-on experiences in:

✍️ Songwriting
💼 Music Business
🤝 Industry Mentorship
🌟 Leadership Development

This is more than music—it’s an opportunity to build confidence, develop creative and technical skills, collaborate with peers, and explore careers in the music industry.

Neither approach is wrong. Both have value—the important thing is knowing which path you’re taking.

Creating from your reality means telling your story, expressing your emotions, and staying authentic. Creating to commercialize means understanding your audience, recognizing the market, and building something that connects with more people.

The goal isn’t choosing one over the other—it’s creating with intention. When you’re clear on your purpose, your music stops being a reaction and becomes a decision.

We had the privilege of spending time with Silvino “Edman” at Good Tone Studios Miami, where he reminded us that you don’t have to choose between your passion and your profession.

As both an attorney and a recording artist, he shared how he’s successfully built careers in both fields, proving that with discipline, organization, and dedication, it’s possible to thrive in more than one path.

We also discussed the power of music as a tool for personal and professional growth. Music helps develop creativity, communication, confidence, and emotional intelligence—skills that benefit not only aspiring artists but anyone pursuing a successful career.

Mayitza Rohena is a passionate educator, creative, and founder of La Conexion Workshops, a nonprofit dedicated to helping youth discover their potential through music, arts, and hands-on experiences. 🎶

With a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science in Recording Arts and a Master’s in Public Relations, Mayitza has built a dynamic career as a Voice-Over Artist, Radio Personality, and Producer, using her voice to connect, inspire, and uplift diverse audiences.

Her journey came full circle when she returned to Full Sail University as a Lab Instructor, guiding students through courses like Recording Principles, Critical Listening, and Mixing Techniques. But her impact goes far beyond the classroom. Through La Conexion Workshops, she creates opportunities for young people to explore their creativity, build confidence, and envision thriving careers in the arts.

Collaborating with organizations like the City of Orlando and My Brother’s Keeper, Mayitza continues to open doors and amplify voices, proving that passion, when paired with purpose, can transform lives. 💫
