Maitland Middle’s Helping Hawks Pantry provides food and toiletries for 20 families each month, and 40 families at the holidays. Students take home bags of essentials to help support their families, some of whom are experiencing housing insecurity. For many students, these bags are an important and reliable resource.

The pantry is made possible through the collective effort of MMS staff and volunteers, along with community partners including Asbury United Methodist Church Maitland, Winter Park Health Foundation, the Maitland Fund through the Foundation for OCPS, and Maitland PTA. Individual donors who shop directly from the pantry wish list also play a meaningful role in helping to keep shelves stocked. This is truly a community effort, and we are deeply grateful to everyone who helps ensure our students and families have access to food and basic necessities.

MMS staff and volunteers will continue supporting families throughout the summer. If you would like to send or drop off food donations now and through August, staff will be available at Maitland Middle to receive them.

🎨 SAVE THE DATE 🎨

Join us for a unique, student-led art experience in support of the Maitland Golden Hawk Fund.

On Tuesday, March 31, students are invited to participate in Art in High Places in the Maitland Middle School cafeteria. Each participant will receive a ceiling tile to design and paint, creating a lasting piece of art that will be displayed on campus.

Cost to participate is $40 per person. All ceiling tiles, paint and supplies will be provided, along with pizza, chips, and a soda.

Once completed, the painted ceiling tiles will be installed around MMS, showcasing student creativity for years to come.

The Maitland Golden Hawk Fund supports educational programs, school improvements, and assistance for students and families in need at Maitland Middle School.

Operated through the Foundation for OCPS, the Fund leverages community events and fundraising campaigns to help meet under- or unfunded needs of the school. The Golden Hawk Fund remains committed to supporting the evolving needs of Maitland Middle School and helping students achieve academic excellence.
