Thanks to all of the families who cooled down after school yesterday with Kona Ice! Together, we raised $250 for Maitland and Dommerich.

🌿LANDSCAPE REFRESH: Our campus curb appeal just got a glow-up!

Thanks to the generous financial support of Maitland Middle PTA , along with the oversight and input of school leadership and the Maitland Fund volunteers, several areas around campus received a much-needed refresh.

The project included:
🌳 Trimming hedges and removing dead and overgrown plants at the front of the school
🌳 Installing crape myrtle trees to complement the landscaping along Thistle Lane
🌳 Adding Florida-Friendly plants, including muhly grass, along the 100 Building and front office façade, giving a consistent look to both areas
🌳 Unearthing a section of pavers that had become overgrown with grass
🌳 Replacing overgrown plants in the library courtyard planters with lower-profile landscaping to improve visibility
🌳 Cleaning up several tree beds near the library
🌳 Fresh mulch
🌳 And more!

These improvements are helping make our campus feel more welcoming and reflective of the pride we have in our A-rated school.

We’re grateful for the collaboration that helped bring this campus refresh to life. Special thanks to Vibrant View Landscaping for the work on this project, too.

🎉 It was an A-mazing Cel-A-Bration! 🎉

Thank you to everyone who joined us today to celebrate Maitland Middle School’s new A rating with Maitland Middle PTA, Maitland Fund and Kona Ice! We loved seeing familiar faces, welcoming new friends and sharing our excitement for the school year ahead. Over 100 people came out to cool off, even in the rain.

A special thank-you to Dr. Wilhite and the MMS staff members who joined the celebration. We can’t wait to be back on campus next month!
