This week at Family Promise, we're celebrating the incredible volunteers who help make our mission possible! From supporting families and helping at events to organizing donations and lending a hand wherever needed, our volunteers make a difference every day.

We're also excited to introduce a new "Star Volunteer" yard sign that will travel throughout our volunteer community, allowing us to shine a spotlight on the many amazing people who support our mission throughout the year.

Thank you for your time, your heart, and your commitment to families in our community. We couldn't do this work without you!

In just one week, guests at our 2026 No Place Like Home Fundraising Breakfast will hear directly from families whose lives have been changed through Family Promise.

After months of working toward stability, Marquis and his children recently moved into one of our transitional homes and are focused on building a brighter future together.

After spending two years living in a hotel following the loss of their housing, Holly and her family recently moved into one of our transitional homes and are finally experiencing the stability they worked so hard to achieve.

These are just two of the stories of resilience and hope that will be shared at this year's Breakfast.

A special thank you to the sponsors helping make this event possible:

EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: MEET JANET!

Today, we’re shining the spotlight on Janet, our Volunteer and Community Outreach Coordinator!
Janet helps connect Family Promise Greater Orlando with the incredible people and organizations who support our mission. From working with community volunteers, churches, and corporate and civic partners to assisting with special events and volunteer initiatives, Janet helps bring people together to serve families in our Shelter Program.

But what keeps her motivated?

“This work matters to me because I get the opportunity to make kids feel better.”

For Janet, seeing tears turn into smiles reminds her why she does this work. She believes every child deserves the opportunity to be innocent and carefree, and if she can help make that possible even just a little bit she’ll keep doing it. 💙
We’re thankful for Janet’s dedication, compassion, and commitment to our families and the Central Florida community.

Help us celebrate Janet in the comments!

On August 27, we welcomed families from our Shelter and Stabilization programs to our latest Community Learning Lab, where the focus was on financial education and building a brighter financial future.

Families shared a meal together before parents participated in an informative session led by Regions Bank's Next Step program, which provided practical guidance on budgeting, financial literacy, and long-term financial success. Meanwhile, children enjoyed hands-on activities focused on numbers, budgeting, and money management concepts.

Through our Community Learning Lab series, we strive to equip families with practical skills and resources while fostering connection, learning, and community-building.

A special thank you to Regions Bank, especially their Fairbanks Winter Park branch, for investing in the future success of the families we serve.

Community Collaboration Shoutout 💚

A huge thank you to Progressive for helping launch an exciting new collaboration with Family Promise through a targeted events program designed to support the families we serve.

Their first event was a quarterly birthday celebration for families in our programs, bringing everyone together for an evening of food, music, games, dancing, and fun. The event created meaningful opportunities for connection while making our families feel celebrated and supported.

We are grateful for the Progressive team’s energy, kindness, and commitment to learning more about our mission and the families we serve. We look forward to many more opportunities to work together.
