✈️ SILVERHAWKS SENIOR SUNDAY

Well, Seniors…you made it through the first nine weeks of your last year of high school! 🎉

Whether you absolutely crushed the first quarter or you're just glad it's behind you, we've got some good news.

Tuesday is a fresh start!

Maybe your grades weren't quite where you wanted them. Maybe balancing school, work, activities, and everything else was harder than expected. Or maybe you had a great first quarter and want to keep that momentum going.

Whatever Q1 looked like, it doesn't have to define the rest of your senior year.

But here's something worth remembering: Q2 matters!

These next nine weeks will wrap up your first semester of senior year. For some seniors, that means college applications, essays, scholarships, and important deadlines.
For others, it's time to take the next steps toward trade school, apprenticeships, military service, or entering the workforce.

And for EVERY senior, it's an opportunity to make sure you're on track for graduation.

So before Tuesday, take a few minutes for a little pre-flight check. Ask yourself"

💬 What worked well during Q1?
💬 What's something you wish had gone differently?
💬 What's ONE thing you can do differently to finish the semester strong?

Maybe it's checking Skyward more often, staying on top of assignments, asking for help sooner, or taking that first step toward figuring out life after graduation.

💙Senior parents, here's your Sunday reminder, too.

Our seniors don't need a rundown of everything that went wrong during the first quarter. They need encouragement, a little accountability, and the reassurance that there's still time to make changes.

Have the conversation. Help them set a realistic goal. And remind them that progress matters more than perfection.

Class of 2027, you're officially one quarter closer to graduation!

Remember, your first quarter doesn't define your senior year. What you do next matters.

Let's make Q2 count, Silverhawks!

What if you could show someone "What My Culture Means to Me” through a camera lens?

This week, we're putting the spotlight on Film Production and how you can bring this year's Reflections theme to life through video!

Think about the people, places, experiences, and moments that have helped shape who you are.

🎬Maybe it's a day in your life that shows what matters most to you.
🎬A family tradition you've grown up with.
🎬A conversation between generations about how things have changed.
🎬The sights and sounds of your neighborhood or community.
🎬A story about finding where you belong.
🎬Or a short film showing what it's like to be a teenager in your generation.

You could create a documentary, animation, music video, or short film. You can even tell your story without any dialogue!

And you don't need fancy equipment or professional editing skills to have a story worth sharing. Sometimes the best ideas start with the camera on your phone.

These are just idea starters! Your culture and your story are yours to tell. Take the theme in a direction that means something to YOU.

🎬Film Production is just one of six ways to enter Reflections.

📅 Entries are due October 30th. Email [email protected]

So, Silverhawks… if you could make a movie about one part of your life, what would you want people to see?

We talk a lot about reaching out when our kids are struggling. But we don’t have to wait until something is wrong to start talking about mental health.

Actually, when things are going well can be one of the best times to start. And, that’s what tonight is all about.

STAY: Tomorrow Needs You isn’t just for families going through something. It’s for all of us.

Maybe you want to understand a little more about what our teens are dealing with. Maybe you want to know what resources are available before you ever need them. Or maybe you just want to hear directly from students about what they wish the adults in their lives understood.

Tonight is a chance to listen, ask questions, meet community organizations and have some real conversations.

Bring your teen. Come together.

You don’t need to have a problem to solve. You just need to show up.

Mental Health Awarness Week- October 4–10
💙Tuesday Check-in💙

As parents, sometimes getting our teens to talk isn’t the hardest part. It’s figuring out what to do when they actually do.

They tell us about a bad grade, friend drama, a breakup, stress about what comes after high school…and our first instinct is usually: How can I fix this?

But sometimes they don’t want us to fix it. They just want us to listen.

So the next time your teen opens up, try asking:

💬 “Do you want me to listen, help, or give you some space?”

That one question gives them a chance to tell you what they need instead of us trying to guess.

Our teens are becoming more independent, but that doesn’t mean they need us less. Sometimes they just need us differently.

This Mental Health Awareness Week, let’s focus a little less on having the perfect answer and a little more on making sure our kids know they can come to us. 💚

And don't forget that tomorrow, we would love to have you join us at STAY: Tomorrow Needs You as we keep these important conversations going with families from across Seminole County.

Sometimes just being there is enough.

💗 Lake Howell feeder school teachers and staff... ARE YOU READY TO THINK PINK?! 💗

The LHHS Pink Out Games are coming, and we’re looking for competitors from our feeder schools who are ready to represent their campus, have some fun, and make some SORTA questionable athletic decisions inside an inflatable, mascot-style game.

Basically, you’ll be suited up, puffed up, and trying to prove your school has what it takes to BLOW AWAY the competition.

Sounds like a perfect Friday night to us!

Training? Not needed.
Athletic ability? Unnecessary.
Balance? Optional.
Dignity? You may want to leave that at home.
School spirit? ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED. 💗

Which feeder school is ready to INFLATE its reputation and PINK OUT the competition?!

And students... we need your help. 👀

CALL OUT YOUR TEACHERS! 📣

Tag the teacher, principal, coach, counselor, or staff member you think has the guts to suit up, bounce into battle, and represent your school!

Because when the inflatables come out...the competition is about to get blown WAY out of proportion.

MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK- October 4-10

High school can be a journey of self-discovery, but it's okay to acknowledge the struggles along the way!

Grades, tests, practices, rehearsals, clubs, jobs, friendships, relationships, family expectations, college applications, and decisions about what comes next... it's a lot to navigate!

But in the midst of it all, our students are also learning to find their true selves.

💔Sometimes, the student who seems to have it all together may be carrying a heavy load.
🤔Sometimes, the student who says “I’m fine” is just searching for the right words to express their emotions.
🌟And sometimes, all they need is someone to believe in them, to listen, and to remind them that they don't have to have all the answers right now!

This Mental Health Awareness Week, let's create a safe space for our Silverhawk families to have open and honest conversations!

❔PARENTS, TONIGHT ASK THIS QUESTION:
“What’s something that’s been taking up a lot of space in your head lately?”

Then, give them the gift of listening, without judgment or solution. Just be present!
Checking in can be as simple as that, and one conversation can be a game-changer!

And this Wednesday, let's continue the conversation together at STAY: Tomorrow Needs You, a mental health resource night for Seminole County families.

SILVERHAWKS SENIOR SUNDAY
MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK EDITION

SENIORS, HOW ARE YOU REALLY DOING?

Senior year is supposed to be exciting.

But it can also be a lot.

☑ You’re keeping up with classes while thinking about graduation.
☑ Everyone keeps asking what you’re doing next.
☑ Some of you are filling out applications.
☑ Some are making plans for work, trade school, or the military.
☑ And some of you still have absolutely no idea what comes next.

That’s okay.

This week, we want our seniors to hear something that can easily get lost in all the talk about deadlines and graduation:

💙 Your mental health matters MORE than having everything figured out.💙

♥ You don’t have to know exactly where you’re going yet.
♥ You don’t have to have the same plan as your friends.
♥ And you don’t have to pretend everything is fine when it isn’t.

Check in with yourself. Talk to someone you trust. Ask for help when you need it. And check on your friends, too.

This week, Seminole County Council PTA is hosting STAY: Tomorrow Needs You, a Mental Health Resource Night for Seminole County families.

📅 Wednesday, October 7
⏰ 6:00–7:30 PM
📍 Winter Springs High School

Families will hear student voices, participate in real conversations, and connect with mental health resources available in our community.

Parents, this conversation includes you too. Sometimes supporting a senior means helping with applications and deadlines. Sometimes it simply means asking: "How are you doing?” and really listening to the answer.

Class of 2027, there is a lot ahead of you.

Your next chapter doesn’t need to be completely planned yet.
Just keep going.
Tomorrow needs you.
