Have you ever wondered what happens when you give your mind permission to pause?🧠

In a recent community education class funded by the Winter Park Health Foundation, certified ACE Health Coach Julie Ward (Spirit Alchemy) led a guided meditation at the Center for Health & Wellbeing that taught participants how to listen to their inner voice, focus on the present moment, and reconnect with themselves.

Meditation can help create a sense of calm, peace, and balance that supports both your emotional wellbeing and overall health.

The people who care for our community deserve care, too. 🫶

In May, the Winter Park Health Foundation welcomed community partners from New Hope for Kids and Grace Medical Home to the Center for Health & Wellbeing for a hands-on culinary experience focused on one of our strategic priorities: Food Is Health.

Participants stepped away from their daily responsibilities to learn healthy cooking techniques and explore plant-based recipes. Led by certified nutrition consultant Sarah Santa ( June Crush Consulting, LLC ) and 4Roots farm Senior Culinary Director Hari Pulapaka , the sessions featured fresh, flavorful dishes that make healthy eating feel accessible and enjoyable.

Beyond providing grants to help advance their work, the Winter Park Health Foundation is proud to fund wellbeing experiences that support our impact partners.

Because when we invest in those who care for others, we help build a healthier community for us all.

FOOD IS HEALTH: Everyone says you should eat more greens, but what if it’s not just the greens you know, but the greens you grow that will make the biggest difference in your diet?🌱

Recently, Melissa Goltermann of Momma G Farms stopped by the Center for Health & Wellbeing to teach families how to cultivate their own leafy greens from cuttings and seeds.

Funded by the Winter Park Health Foundation, the Kids’ Gardening Adventure class provided participants with knowledge, skills, and their very own plants that they will enjoy watching grow in the weeks to come.

Introducing kids to a nurturing and empowering hobby like gardening gives them lifelong tools to boost both their mental and physical health.

So much good work is happening across Central Florida. Every time we attend a partner event, we’re reminded how many people and organizations are deeply committed to improving the health of our community.

A few moments we were grateful to be part of this spring:

🔹 Legacy of Champions Luncheon – Mental Health Association of Central Florida
🔹 Celebrate the Children gala – Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida
🔹 Elevate Summit – 100 Women Strong, Central Florida Foundation

Thank you to these partners (and many others not listed here) for all you do to support and inspire. 🩵

Last week, through our Open Doors program at the Center for Health & Wellbeing , the Winter Park Health Foundation hosted the Florida Alliance for Healthcare Value's 33rd Annual Conference.

This year's sessions focused on "The Future of Health Care: Built by Employer Leadership."

We were proud to support this important work led by Alliance President and CEO Karen van Caulil, Ph.D., a dedicated member of the WPHF Board of Trustees.

Open Doors provides qualified nonprofits with complimentary meeting and event space, removing venue barriers so organizations can focus on what matters most: their mission.
