Hello Trappers && CARE Supporters -
Some of you may have heard the announcement and for others this is new information. Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando has announced they will be shifting their current Trap-Neuter-Return program beginning July 1, 2026. CARE was not willing to see the reduction of up to 160 TNR appointments monthly to our Central Florida community so we had to act on the opportunity. 160 TNR appointments means tens of thousands of kittens born to the streets yearly - not something we are willing to see happen. It would have been a step backwards.
We are very thankful for the almost 8 years that Pet Alliance provided TNR Services to our community. Their efforts were a huge assistance in reducing the cat population.
CARE met with Pet Alliance this week and we have decided to take on the extra appointments at the Orange County Animal Services East Side Clinic operated by Pet Alliance. That is moving CARE’s current commitment from 80 appointments to 240 appointments - a huge financial strain to us. In terms of money we are going from spending $5,000 to now $15,000 monthly. CARE is run exclusively off grants and donations from the public.
We will be partnering with several local cat organizations to help fill appointments but we will still need financial help from all avenues.
We need your help. We cannot afford $10,000 extra monthly unless we get significant donations. Help us help the cats. You can donate directly via Zelle or PayPal: [email protected] - send a check to PO Box 4552, Winter Park, FL 32793 or participate in one of our raffles.
We will see what donations look like from now until July to get an idea if we can viably operate this schedule beyond July.
We appreciate any and all help you can offer.
