Our Fat Cat goes to Barronwood 1 weighing in at 13.0 pounds. Our Fluffy Female goes to Carla, who tipped the scale at 9.2 pounds.

Next clinic date is Tuesday, August 11 (surgery spots are already filled). If you'd like to volunteer, put it on your calendar now and just show up the morning of the clinic. We will always find something for you to help with. Clinic address is 12050 East Colonial Drive. August dates are 11, 14, 21, 28.

Volunteer help needed at Pet Alliance Alafaya, 12050 E Colonial Drive, Orlando. Must be 18+. There is a bus stop close to the clinic.

I can gladly sign off on any volunteer forms and you can put this towards your Social Responsibility at most employers.

Help needed in several roles…
Helping to carry traps with cats around the clinic (heavy lifting).
Helping to draw up vaccinations (you do not administer them of course).
Changing newspaper and clean traps while cat is being sterilized ensuring it’s clean for them to return to it (lifting empty traps weighing up to 10 pounds).
Opening syringes from their plastic protective pouches (this can be completed sitting down).
Helping carrying cats in traps at discharge (heavy lifting).

Those interested are welcome to give as much of their time between 7am and 5pm, though the greater need is 8a to 12p. Just let staff know what you’d be most comfortable with when you arrive.

Closed toed shoes and pants are highly recommended.

***you will see cats anesthetized in almost all roles. The surgery takes place in a separate room and you can fully avoid seeing any surgery***

All you need to do is show up and let us know you're there to help!

We need volunteers tomorrow (July 28) anytime from 7am to 5pm to help out at the clinic for our TNR Day.

Just show up and help. It’s truly a rewarding and fun day.

**ARM YOUR PET**

Orange County residents, another ARM YOUR PET event is almost here!

On Wednesday, July 22nd, we will be hosting this event to benefit all Orange County cats. As always, included will be free rabies vaccinations and free microchipping for Orange County residents ONLY. By state law, all pets are required to have a current rabies vaccination, so this is a chance for our community to protect their cats. And everyone knows a microchip is the most effective way to reunite with your pet if they are ever lost. Providing this service to our community for free will help save lives and keep animals out of the shelter.

• When: Wednesday, July 22nd, 2026
• Where: Barnett Park, 4801 W Colonial Dr, Orlando, FL 32808
• Time: 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Services provided:
• Microchip identification, including free registration of owner’s information in the national database.
• Rabies vaccine, which is required by the State of Florida.
• A combination FVRCP vaccine

Things to keep in mind:
• Services are available on a first come, first served basis while supplies last.
• Services are for Orange County residents only, with proof of residency. All others will be turned away.
• There is a limit of two cats per household for these services.
• All cats must be in a carrier.
• Pets unable to be safely handled will be refused service.
• Due to health and safety concerns, OCAS will not be able to assist cats that have had previous vaccine reactions, are experiencing current medical conditions or are reactive (display aggression) toward other pets or people.
