Punitive drug policies have created a culture of stigma, mass incarceration, violence, and death for people who use drugs and the people who love them. The War on Drugs is a war on people and in our next small social media series we are going to be talking a little bit more about the history of this war and how we ended up here. Ignoring history is the best way to repeat it, so we are going to spend the new few weeks trying to change history and center dignity, compassion, and education about drugs and the people who use them. We hope you will join us!

Happy Hepatitis Hump Day! Today we wanted to talk about one of the myths we hear often at the exchange...that you can give yourself Hep C. This isn't true! Because Hep C is a virus and not bacteria, you cannot give it to yourself by reusing your own works. You can still get bacterial infections from reusing your own works, so we still don't recommend it! But you cannot give yourself Hepatitis. Are you living with hep C? Happy Foil Friday! Smoking your drugs and using foil is a harm reduction technique that can lower your risk of developing issues specifically related to injection such as soft skin tissue infections and HIV. Just remember, don't use the shiny side! This stops you from enhaling the chemicals from the foil.
