💚✨ Join us in celebrating our amazing Girl Scout alums who have paved the way for future generations of athletes. From track and field to basketball, swimming to the heptathlon, these incredible women inspire us all to reach for our dreams.

🏃‍♀️🌟 Meet Florence Griffith Joyner, a proud Girl Scout alum and one of the fastest women in history! Known for her speed and style, Flo-Jo dominated track and field, winning 3 gold medals and 2 silver medals in the 1988 and 1984 Olympics.

Today we are highlighting the leadership legacy of Girl Scout trailblazer Josephine Holloway. Holloway was born in 1898 in Cowpens, South Carolina, and later moved to Tennessee, where she attended Fisk University. After graduating, she worked at the Bethlehem Center, a social settlement home for at-risk women and girls. During her time there, she began introducing Girl Scout-inspired activities and programming for girls at the Center. In 1933, Holloway wanted to form a Girl Scout troop for African-American girls, but the council denied her request. In true trailblazer fashion, Holloway did not quit. Instead, she established an unofficial Girl Scout troop and encouraged her friends to do the same while continuing to seek official status. Her efforts paid off in 1942 when the local council finally officially recognized all African-American troops. Holloway retired from Girl Scouts in 1963 and was given special recognition by the Cumberland Valley Girl Scout Council at their 1976 Bicentennial celebration. We honor her enduring legacy as a true trailblazer for all girls.

Treasures of Winter Troop 1092 hosted their 2nd Back to School Supply Giveaway. This is their first service project of the new Girl Scout Year (2024 - 2025). Our Troopers serviced over 100 students at the Winter Park Summer Camp with free school supplies. In addition, Troop 1092 also donated school supplies that they raised themselves with the help of the Winter Park Police Department to the Meadows (Margaret Square,-WP, Fl.)✏️ 📓 🍎 🎒. Please give them an around of applause. 👏🏾
