Everyone meet the newest additions to the rescue: Aster (F), Bluebell (F), and Clover (M)! 🌸

These sweet little ones made their arrival on April 1st (and no, it’s not an April Fools joke 🥲).

Their amazing momma, Rose, has been doing such a wonderful job caring for them, and we couldn’t be more proud of her. 💕

🚨 BEWARE / COMMUNITY AWARENESS 🚨

This is one of MANY reasons we do not support “breeders,” no matter how “ethical” they claim to be. Too often, innocent animals are the ones who suffer.

Sharing on behalf of one of our FOSTERS + our piggy community :

Liz Llewellyn (Citrus County , FL) sold a 6 week old baby guinea pig that was sick and already injured . When confronted, she denied everything, called MY FOSTER a scammer, blamed her, refused reimbursement, and then blocked her.

This baby was diagnosed with:
• Respiratory infection
• Dislocated right knee
• Improperly healed / misaligned right ankle

Per the vet, the leg injuries are most consistent with wire flooring trauma (or much less likely a birth injury). Part of the injury was already healed wrong, meaning this did NOT happen in her new home !!

💔 This injury is permanent and she will likely need a future leg amputation !

Thankfully the RI was caught in time, but this should have never happened.

An ethical breeder would have:
✔️ health checked
✔️ gotten vet care
✔️ disclosed concerns
✔️ taken accountability

Instead, this baby was handed over quickly and is now paying the price.

🐾 Fiona deserved better & So does any other piggy’s Liz Llewellyn currently has in her care !

🐹 Nugget, Milkshake & Pancake – Looking for Their Forever Home 🏡

Nugget (American) – 3 years old, Female
Nugget is the calm, quiet, and passive queen of the group. She may be the smallest, but she’s the oldest and wisest 💕 You’ll often find her tucked away in the hay bin enjoying her peaceful little hideout.

Milkshake (Lighter Abyssinian) – 2 years old, Female
The true “middle child” energy 😆 Milkshake is laid-back and go-with-the-flow. She’s generally passive but knows how to step up at feeding time to make sure she gets her share!

Pancake (Darker Abyssinian) – 2 years old, Female
The biggest and boldest of the trio! Pancake is adventurous, talkative, and full of personality. She WILL let you know when it’s time to eat and is always first in line 🥬

🥗 Favorite Veggies/Fruits:
Romaine, spring mix, cilantro, parsley, spinach, kale
Carrots, cucumbers, celery, green beans
Peppers (green, yellow, orange), cherry tomatoes
Watermelon, apples, bananas, strawberries, oranges

Red peppers, zucchini, squash, asparagus, brussels sprouts
Blueberries, grapes

🍓 Favorite Treats:
Pea flakes & freeze-dried strawberries/bananas

All three girls tolerate nail trims and baths when needed.
Nugget & Milkshake are more bonded with calm temperaments, while Pancake marches to the beat of her own drum 🎶

💡 Pancake can be separated for the right home, but preference is keeping them together.

Pebble is about 6 months old and is an Aby mix 🐹✨

She is a submissive little piggy 💕 and does great with other piggies as long as they are not hairless 🫶🏼

She loves hammocks 🛏️ and is a total popcorn machine 🍿💨 This girl is always popcorning and full of silly energy 🤍✨

Pebble does not like being picked up or handled 🙈 She will scream like she’s being murdered 😅 so she’ll do best with someone patient, understanding, and willing to let her move at her own pace 🐾💗

These sweet babies absolutely love people. They don’t bite, don’t run away, and are total cuddle bugs. Think little “cuddle potatoes” 🥔 who will happily lay on your lap and relax with you.

They’ve been very well socialized both before and after coming into our care, making them friendly, calm, and easy to handle.

🐹 Bonded Pair: Mohawk & Peanut 🐹

Mohawk
• Shy shy shy shy shy she needs lots of patience and gentle affection to come out of her shell. She’s always been the timid type but is slowly opening up more!
• She’s meh about being held not a fan, but doesn’t hate it.
• Super quiet honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever heard her squeak!
• Loves calm environments loud noises will scare her.
• Has never had an issue bonding with other pigs 🧡

Peanut
• LOVES to cuddle you can usually find her snuggled in your hoodie or any cozy dark spot 🖤
• May nibble if held too long
• Super loud and expressive!
• Can be semi dominant, but once bonded she’s totally fine with others. She does hump sometimes 😂
• Squirmy when held make sure she’s sitting on a blanket and she’s happy 😊

🐹💕 Meet Moo & Moo Moo! 💕🐹

These two sweet girls are looking for their perfect home together!

🤍 Moo (the more white-faced)
– Quiet and laid-back most of the time
– Turns into a squeaky little diva the second she hears a bag open 😆

🤎 Moo Moo (brown on each side)
– Full of personality
– Loves giving kisses and attention 💋
– Prefers to keep her circle small she’s a strictly sister-only kind of girl and does not get along with other pigs

🥬 Favorite Things:
– ALL the veggies 🥕🥬
– Snuggling under blankets together
– Being cozy and loved

⚠️ Important:
Moo Moo does not do well with other guinea pigs outside of Moo, so they must be adopted as a pair and kept separate from other pigs.

These girls have such a fun, loving bond and would make the perfect duo for someone ready to spoil them 💕

Recently someone told one of our fosters that rescuing guinea pigs “isn’t a real job.” Honestly… that statement couldn’t be further from the truth .

Rescuing animals isn’t something that clocks in at 9 AM and ends at 5 PM. It’s a 24/7 commitment that requires constant time, effort, and resources.

Every single day involves:
• Cleaning enclosures and replacing bedding
• Doing laundry for fleece liners, blankets, and towels 🧺
• Preparing fresh vegetables and hay to ensure proper nutrition 🥬
• Daily health checks and monitoring behavior
• Socializing and giving each guinea pig the attention they deserve
• Answering adoption inquiries and reviewing applications
• Quarantine care for new arrivals
• Vet visits when needed 🩺

On top of that, rescues personally cover the cost of essentials and extras hay, pellets, fresh produce, bedding, cleaning supplies, enrichment toys, and veterinary care. None of that appears out of thin air.

We also rely heavily on the kindness and donations from our community to help keep this rescue running. Supporters who donate supplies, contribute financially, or share our posts make a huge difference in helping us continue caring for these sweet babies. 🤝💕

Most people only see the cute photos and happy adoption stories. What they don’t see are the late nights, constant cleaning, emotional energy, and financial commitment it takes to give these animals a second chance.

Rescuing isn’t “just a hobby.”
It’s responsibility.
It’s dedication.
It’s compassion.

And while we may not receive a paycheck for it, the lives we save and the animals we help are worth every bit of the work. 🐾💕

We’ve started growing sweet peppers 🫑 for the piggies because why buy them when we can grow an unlimited supply? 😂

Surprisingly they look so beautiful, healthy, and greeeeeen 😍💚 Usually I don’t have much of a green thumb, so this definitely feels like a little accomplishment! 🌱✨
