Nutwood has a spicy chicken sandwich on special this week, and the council took notice. Created by Michelin-starred chef Steven Rojas, this sandwich was worth flying down the Nashville Sandwich Council to give it a try and they were wholly impressed, if not a little shaken by the experience. So what makes this sandwich so special? A lot of it comes down to the fact they are using tenders, not a whole honking breast, so it ensures consistent volume to surface area ratios throughout the sandwich. Science FTW! Additionally the batter transitions from a super crunchy outside to this delicious buttermilk coating underneath that just folds into the chicken brilliantly, which is so tender it's hard to know where it begins. The entire experience, the texture, the flavor profile, the perfect amount of heat would have earned this the title of best spicy chicken sandwich in Winter Haven, IF it were a regular menu item. But if one day this item does make it to their regular menu there will be a grand ceremony to mark the occasion. You have one more day to go try this masterpiece, we heartily suggest you do so!!!
