Quick update..

We arrived safely in Africa last week and the kids wasted no time connecting with old friends. William was able to celebrate the joint wedding of his two youngest brothers upon arrival as well!

We are transitioning and hoping to settle in over the next few weeks.

Your support has been essential to our work here. We can feel our family, friends and church community surrounding us in prayer! Thank you!

A few things we could use prayers for..

The kids officially started their first full today of school today. Please pray for them to smoothly transition, their safety, their academic growth and gentle teachers.

We shipped a container for the non-profit but it was seized by customs. We are waiting to hear back from when they release it. We have no other details. Please pray it is released soon with no complications as we are dependent upon many items in there for our work.

We are looking an SUV to buy for the nonprofit. Pray that the Lord opens doors for one that is reasonably priced and well taken care of with no complications.

A continued prayer is for safety ans health and wellbeing of our family. In addition, that we would create a daily rhythm that serves our family and the mission.

Thanks again!!! We love and appreciate you all!

Today were able to have one of our incredible US partners join us via zoom for this beautiful event empowering young people to grow in their leadership ans entrepreneurial skills.

The entire audience received a gift of a book we believe in so strongly, SHINE by Kris DenBesten. This book has been such a blessing in our lives personally and so many other professionals we know. It is packed full of Biblical wisdom that can not only impact lives personally but also transform businesses and how they serve others and honor God.

Accountability is a huge value for both us at The Leader Team (our new 501c3) and The Young Professionals Forum. Because of this, participants are reading it together this month and will be discussing the lessons learned in their monthly regional meet ups. These times are purposed to take theories and concepts into a practical everyday reality.

The authenticity of our speakers, sharing not only their successes but their failures and their discouragements, opened the discussion beyond expected. Hundreds of people came out hopeful for wisdom and advice on how to move forward even in the midst of discouragement, loss and even hopelessness. Questions were passionate, authentic and desperately desiring empowerment for their future and others.

We were humbled and honored to sit amongst those hungry to make a difference in their family, community, nation and even world.

We were inspired by their stories, their grit to overcome even the hardest pain, and their innovative ideas for the future!

Our partnership with The Young Professionals Forum has also allowed us the privilege of creating a fair and transparent business plan grant process to help young people build their start-ups with courage, integrity and social impact. Today we entered the final steps in our process and look forward to announcing those mentees very soon!

While there we connected with several young people one-on-one with incredible ideas to change the world! We cannot wait to begin meeting with them to support their dreams and surround them with the resources and mentorship needed to grow their vision and impact lives!

Thank you friends and family for continuing to support us!

It has been a tough couple of weeks for us with both our kids getting sick and having some other tough obstacles to overcome culturally but today was such an encouragement from the Lord! We were able to see first hand how many lives are being equipped to create GOOD in their community and nation. God is good!

Your prayers and support have sustained us and we are so grateful!

Here are some more specific prayer requests:

1. Please pray that our kids would be healed completely. Seember just recovered from malaria and is now in treatment for salmonella poisoning and staff infection. Tersoo has an upper respiratory infection with a low grade fever.

2. Please pray our housing situation would remain secure now and also in our planned future visits.

3. We just signed a contract to lease a new space for our non-profit and we are in the renovation process. Please pray this gets done soon and that all the details work out smoothly and on budget. (Stay tuned, we are going to have a video tour of the building for you all shortly.)

4. We are proposing a business contract for one of our businesses and if all works out this will provide dozens of more jobs with a long-term sustainable income for families! Please pray this contract goes through!

5. We secured a housing spot for our next visit but long story short it fell through. We are still waiting for our money to be returned to us. Please pray the person gives us a full and complete refund.

6. Our family will be traveling soon so pray for safe flights and travels.

7. That the Lord would continue to keep us hopeful with eyes laser focused on the vision he has for us and not get distracted by discouragements.

8. Please pray that all our tummies will be settled. We go in and out of stomach aches.

9. We are still waiting for the IRS to send our EIN number so that we can begin taking donations and finish our website. Please pray we get this within the next few days.

10. Praise Report- Just thanking the Lord for our incredible partners. Without you in America and them here in Nigeria we would not have a ministry at all. We are so thankful! Thank you Jesus!

Spent the day equipping and inspiring young aspiring leaders in their journey towards long-term sustainability for their families.

What an honor to share the stage with such incredible Nigerian leaders.

We focused on resilience in the midst of COVID. It such a beautiful confirmation of what resilience is when each speaker’s training built on one another. Diverse perspectives yet the very same powerful meaning and purpose.

We look forward to our next state-wide training next week.

Thank you all for praying. We believe that God continues to use our partnerships to create supportive collaboration and empowerment to everyone!

Thank you all for praying. Here are a few updates on prayer needs..

1. As many of you know from our personal page, our daughter, came down with Malaria last week (104 temp). It was scary but through our prayer warriors we observed an incredible turnaround and today she is 100% recovered from Malaria . However, we just got more lab tests back and she has a staff infection and salmonella infection. Please continue to pray for the health of Seember.

2. We found a property we really love for our ministry. Please pray the Lord’s favor in every step of the process.

3. We have some big meetings coming up this week that could open doors for us to provide sustainable income for dozens of families. Please pray the Lord’s favor and wide open doors!

4. Praise report! Yesterday was Nigerian Independence Day and the city was expecting some insecurities but we went through the day and everything was peaceful!

Thank you all!

We love you and are so grateful for your love and support!

This past week we were asked to do another training on the intersection between Biblical leadership, integrity, and influence.

The discussion was full of great thought and difficult obstacles.

We were able to listen, to encourage and empower leaders who have been pushing for positive change in the community for years.

This team was highly aware that this work is not quick or fast. Changing mindsets that have been driven by lifetimes of poverty can take a decades. But, they are patience. They are passionate and they are committed.

We are so honored to continue to be invited to share space with incredible people doing the hard and nuanced work of building communities and empowering families to escape the cycle of poverty.

We shared a meal, brainstormed how to create sustainable change, and shared stories both beautiful and challenging.

This is the body of Christ!

We are the hands and feet of Jesus and when we come together to support one another we are stronger and can accomplish more!

Thank you for continuing your prayers and support for our family and ministry here!

We feel your prayers and are so thankful!

Our family will be back at church the week of November 11. We cannot wait to see you all!!

Specific Prayer Requests:

1. That we would secure a location within the week. We have been working hard to find the right location but we have been met with several obstacles. We found a space and have conversations with the owner today. Please pray for this to go smoothly, for favor and a good fair negotiation.

2. That our EIN number would come in from the IRS so we can begin to take donations.

3. That the Lord would continue to open doors for us to create jobs and provide trainings.

4. For our kids and their continued transition. That the Lord would provide all they need and the friendship and routines that create health and wholeness.

5. Health and safety

6. That we would finalize our website and it would go live this week!
