The West Orange Dream Center is looking for passionate volunteers to support our GED Program. By giving just a little of your time, you can help adults in our community take a huge step toward education, employment, and a brighter future.

You don’t have to be a professional teacher—just someone who cares and wants to encourage others on their journey.

Ways you can help:
• Tutoring students preparing for their GED
• Assisting during class sessions
• Encouraging and mentoring adult learners

We’re excited to share a new partnership with Unity Stars Inc.! Annakay will be bringing programs that benefit and uplift the dis-ABILITY inclusive community, with a strong focus on accessibility and connection.

💘 Join us this Valentine’s Day for a welcoming event created especially for Deaf and signing families. This is just the beginning as we look forward to offering more American Sign Language opportunities and training for our community.

What a fun Wednesday at our after-school program! 🎶📚

Our students shared a song and dance to the Books of the Bible, and it was such a joy to watch.

Huge thanks to our Discovery Church volunteers who bring Kids Beach Club every week — we’re so grateful for you! 💙

We could use a few more helping hands on Wednesday afternoons. Volunteers can come every week or one Wednesday a month to help with homework, play games, listen to kids share about their day, and build relationships that show them they are valued.

📣 Spots are still available for a new teen program offered in partnership with Valor Living Foundation and West Orange Dream Center!

Classes launch February 7 and meet every other Saturday from 9:00 AM–1:00 PM throughout the spring. Students ages 13–17 will build valuable life skills, learn computer coding, and enjoy lunch each session.

This is a great opportunity for teens to gain confidence, learn new skills, and prepare for what’s next. 💫

Medical & Financial Screening Days for the Free Dental Clinic:
March 6 & 7

We’re getting ready for our upcoming free dental clinic offered in partnership with the Southern Baptist Convention, and screening is an important first step so we can care for as many patients as possible during clinic week. Taking care of this ahead of time helps our dental volunteers use their time well and allows more people to be seen.

Please share the word and encourage anyone who is hoping to receive care to come get pre-screened. Screenings are walk-up and first-come, first-served, and those who qualify will receive an appointment for the clinic week of March 23–27.

Our Teen Summer Job Info Event was a success! 🙌

Huge thanks to Mrs. Barbara Frazier with College Options USA for organizing this opportunity to educate students about CareerSource Central Florida’s three summer job and/or camp options. Students ages 14–19 learned there are multiple ways to earn money while building job readiness, depending on their age.

We’re also grateful for our West Orange Dream Center partners who showed up to share about their programs and potential summer job opportunities. A special thank you to Ms. Ivy Patrick for introducing her exciting 3-month program, Life Skills Outside the Box, for teens ages 13–17. Beginning February 7, registered students will meet every other Saturday at WODC to learn Microsoft Office, email etiquette, interview and workplace professionalism, introduction to computer coding, earn community service hours, gain hireable skills, and receive certifications.

We’re proud of these students for showing up, asking questions, and taking steps toward their future — and we’re honored to support them as they work toward great things. 👏🏾
