🎉🔥 WINSTON — WE DID IT! WE FOUND THE STOVE! 🔥🎉
I have some GREAT news this morning!
After a whole lot of searching, asking around, and probably wearing Google completely out 😂, we found a BRAND-NEW, six-burner commercial-grade stove that is already converted and ready for propane — and it is within our price range!
Even better… our taco dinner fundraiser and the generous donations we received will PAY FOR THE STOVE! ❤️🙌
That means no money will have to come out of WCCD’s regular operating funds to purchase it.
I cannot begin to thank everyone enough who bought taco dinners, donated money, helped cook, worked, spread the word, or supported us in any way. YOU made this happen!
💪💪 NOW WE NEED SOME WINSTON MUSCLE! 💪💪
We found the stove. We raised the money. Now we have one little problem…
WE HAVE TO GET THE DARN THING HOME! 😂
This is a commercial stove, so she isn’t exactly something we can tuck under our arm and carry out the door!
We are looking for a few strong backs and willing hands to help us LOAD the stove onto the trailer and, especially, UNLOAD it once we get it back to Winston.
Between fair season, pig showing and hunting season, our normal supply of available Winston muscle is running a little thin! 🐷🦌😂
👉 If you can help us LOAD and/or UNLOAD the stove, PLEASE comment below or message me. Even if you can only help us unload once we get back to Winston, we would be VERY grateful!
📣 A QUICK SEPTEMBER MEETING UPDATE
We typically skip our September meeting because of fair and hunting season. However, I’ve had several requests from neighbors asking if we can still meet, and I’m certainly willing.
We are tentatively planning an informal community meeting. No official business or voting will take place since most of our other officers are currently knee-deep in pig-showing efforts. 🐷😂
OR… if we can get everything coordinated with the stove, maybe we could have our informal gathering around the same time we bring her home and get her settled into the community center.
If you have a preference, please let me know!
📬 ONE MORE WCCD REMINDER
Over the next month, we will begin reducing our regular WCCD communications to current WCCD members and associate members only.
That includes regular updates, meeting information, activities, reminders and other WCCD communications. If you haven’t paid your 2026 dues yet, we’d love to have you join us because we have some fun things coming for Winston!
❤️ Emergency and community outreach messages are different.
We will continue emailing ALL of our Winston neighbors on our email list when there is an emergency, safety concern, important community outreach, or information that our neighbors need to know — regardless of membership status.
That’s what being a little community is all about — neighbors helping neighbors.
And apparently sometimes it means buying a commercial stove one taco at a time… and then finding enough neighbors to wrestle the darn thing off the trailer! 🌮🔥😂💪
