We know there are NO limits to what our girls achieve 🎉 and we work every day to make sure that they know that, too! Helping girls understand that their career opportunities are limitless means helping them learn about and experience a wide range of career paths.

We bring leaders in a diverse range of industries with vastly different educational backgrounds, experience levels, and career paths to help show our girls that anything is possible. That's why if you ask our girls what they want to be when they grow up, you'll hear more than just doctor or lawyer. You'll hear things like marine biologist, nail tech, music producer, and everything in between.

We're so proud that LEAD Girls know about all the limitless possibilities out there, and we're dedicated to helping them achieve whatever path they're drawn to!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Joy 🎉 For more than 10 years, LEAD Girls founder and Executive Director Joy Nelson-Thomas has been leading change and multiplying her impact through inspiring the next generation of women leaders in our community.

Today, we're celebrating her birthday and the incredible contributions she has made to our organization and to the lives of hundreds of young girls who have been impacted by her leadership. Thanks for all you do for LEAD Girls, Joy! We hope you have the best day.

One of our top priorities for our girls is to make sure they see the value in giving back to our community 🩷 Some girls will give back through entrepreneurship. Others will do so through community service. Some might make art or music.

No matter how they give back, our curriculum is focused on empowering girls to succeed, because every girl can. We lead girls through a structured, multi-session workshop series that use dialogue-focused sessions to instill and nurture a desire to give back and be doers, among other key values.

We're just getting started this school year. Give us a follow if you want to see how our girls LEAD in the community this year ✔️

LEAD Girls have been out in the community this back to school season ⭐ Our team has been busy tabling at community events, hosting organizations at our HQ, and growing the leadership skills of dozens of girls in our community!

This month, we attended the National Night Out with Boston-Thurmond United and had a table at The Great Headstart Back to School Event hosted by Corey Paul Hair Studio.

We also attended the Back to School Resource Fair at Highland Avenue Park, and joined God Crew, Inc. and joined the WSFC Schools Employee Appreciation Day at JC Penney earlier this week, spreading the word about how girls can get involved in our Fall 2026 programming.

Thanks to all the organizations that have invited us to spread the LEAD mission and let the community know about how we're supporting girls' leadership here in our community!

🎉 Happy Birthday, Nadiya! 🎉

This year, Nadiya joined the LEAD Girls team as our Program Coordinator, and we hope this is the first of many birthdays we get to celebrate with her!

In her role, Nadiya helps coordinate and facilitate our programs, supports girls during program sessions, and works behind the scenes to ensure each experience is meaningful, engaging, and well organized. Her dedication helps create positive experiences for the girls and families we serve every day.

Please join us in wishing Nadiya a very happy birthday and a wonderful year ahead! 🩷🎂

Research says that girls start to lose interest in STEM at around age 12, but LEAD Girls found the cure for that ✔️

By exposing girls to a wide variety of STEM careers, taking them on fun and educational field trips, and providing opportunities to meet women that look like them who are in these fields, we've found that LEAD girls are more interested in STEM than ever before!

A whole new school year starts soon, and we're looking forward to new opportunities to explore STEM with the girls. If you're a woman in STEM today, share one thing you wish you knew about your field when you were in middle school in the comments ⬇️

Introducing the 2026–2027 LEAD Girls Ambassadors! 💜

Each year, girls who have completed our flagship program can apply and interview to become an Ambassador. We select a few high school girls to continue growing as leaders while showing younger girls what leadership can look like at the next stage.

Our Ambassadors are examples in action; using their voices, leading with confidence, and showing the girls coming behind them what’s possible.

Give a warm LEAD Girls welcome to this year’s Ambassadors! 💜

Back to School season is HERE and we know that the key to an amazing school year is having confidence in yourself and making good decisions that will bring you closer to a better tomorrow ☀️

A new school year brings new opportunities to grow, lead, and make choices that shape the future. At LEAD Girls, our facilitators do more than teach an evidence-based curriculum. They model what confident, empowered leadership looks like every day. Through meaningful relationships and engaging experiences, girls build the skills they need to navigate middle school and beyond.

We can’t wait to welcome our girls back into schools and begin another year of learning, leadership, and growth!
