We are thrilled to welcome a new member of Our Lady of Salem's Board of Directors: Charlisa Powell. She is an attorney and nonprofit leader committed to serving people experiencing homelessness. Since 2018, she has volunteered with City With Dwellings and Our Lady of Salem Shelter for Women and served on City With Dwellings’ Board of Directors. She is Project Director of Legal Aid of North Carolina’s Veterans Law Project, leading statewide efforts to support low-income veterans, including those experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Welcome, Charlisa!

The Hike for the Unhoused was a huge success! Thank you to all who came out on a very rainy day. A big shoutout to Heron Ale House for hosting us. They have 20 beers on tap and a beautiful venue with views of the Dan River. And a deep felt thank you to Beth Sanders and Amanda Whalen for organizing such an incredible event. We can't wait to do it again!

Come on down to the Green Heron Alehouse! It’s wonderfully cool and so far dry!

We are beyond excited about our hike tomorrow to raise funds for the shelter. Looking forward to raising a glass together at the Green Heron Ale House and buying some raffle tickets to win some fantastic prizes! Thank you to our incredible sponsors for making it happen!

We are grateful to Winston-Salem's FiA, or Females in Action, a community of women dedicated to making each other stronger in all areas of our lives through activities that include bodies, minds, and hearts. A FiA workout is a promise, always free, open to ALL women, held outdoors, and ends with a circle of trust.

We are so grateful to Trailhead Sponsor Well of Mercy, which offers a spiritual environment, respectful hospitality, and quiet sanctuary for those in need of a temporary respite from daily demands, expectations, and stresses or those who may simply wish to move apart for a time of prayer, rest, and renewal. wellofmercy.org
