What were we up to this summer? We were part of a Cavalcade Trek, Crew 617-CY - Charlie Yodel, that headed to Philmont Scout Ranch.

We started by flying from Charlotte to Denver on June 15. We stayed at the Colorado Springs Great Wolf Lodge for 2 nights. While in Colorado Springs, we went to Red Rocks Park, the Air Force Academy Museum and hiked through the Garden of the Gods. We also went to Pikes Peak Cog Railway at 14,115ft as part of our acclimation to the elevation.

Then we headed to Philmont Scout Ranch on June 17 for our 8-day Cavalcade trek. We paired up with our ranger and our wranglers and rode on horseback for our trek. We camped at Ponil, Pueblano, Baldy Town, Miranda and Head of Dean. While in Baldy Town we hiked Baldy Mountain at an elevation of 12,441ft by way of the Goat Trail. We ended our trek back at Ponil for a gymkhana and then closing campfire before heading home.

Our scouts had a life changing experience at Philmont, creating memories they'll never forget.

What were we up to this summer? Some of our scouts headed to Raven K**b for Week 3 of Summer Camp. It was in the upper 90s all week. These girls were troopers and did their best to stay cool.
