When we talk about substance use and community wellness, conversations around alcohol use are critical. Local data shows why expanding accessible support right now is more important than ever.

Recently, WXII 12 News looked into the impact of alcohol-related losses in Forsyth County. GreenTree’s Refuge Coordinator, Shannon Rudisill, spoke on the power of community, visibility, and accessible, judgment-free resources.

We know that substance use challenges are deeply connected to a person's life experiences, environments, and struggles. That’s why we focus on collaboration and connection, rather than expectations. If you are navigating challenges with alcohol or any substance use, please know that the GreenTree is a safe space to land.

Here is Amanda Martin, GreenTree's Executive Director, giving a presentation (Laurie C and Shannon R are not pictured, but we hope to get them later!) This is the last conference to be hosted by the i2i Center for Integratie Health, and we are pleased that they wanted to include a peer support-related presentation. This has generally been a conference about the public mental health, developmental disabilities, and substance use services.
