IFB Solutions, formerly Winston-Salem Industries for the Blind, provides opportunities for persons who are blind or visually impaired in need of training, employment and services. We believe that all persons who are blind or visually impaired have the right to succeed in every area of life.

Did you know: According to the American Academy of Ophthalmology, about half of all eye injuries happen at home. This Home Eye Safety Awareness Month, join us in sharing these precautions.

•Wear American National Standards Institute (ANSI)-approved protective eyewear when using power tools.
•Use a grease shield or splash guard when cooking, and avoid leaning over items that produce steam. Steam can burn the cornea.
•Do not mix cleaning agents.

It's White Cane Awareness Day, a time to recognize the white cane as a vital tool of independence for thousands of people who are blind or visually impaired. Join us in advocating for pedestrian and public safety and educating others.

Join IFB this Saturday, October 17, from 1–3 p.m. for a White Cane Walk at Pack Square Park in Asheville, N.C.
• Listen to a presentation on White Cane Awareness Day
• Connect with local organizations
• Sighted attendees will have an opportunity to walk with a borrowed cane, with or without a blindfold

🏭 It's National Manufacturing Day! To recognize the day, IFB Solutions welcomed high school students from The Franklin School of Innovation for a tour of its Asheville facility.

Students learned how manufacturing operations can successfully incorporate inclusive employment practices. Highlights included the manufacturing of textile equipment and complex apparel for the military, full-scale digital cutting and ultrasonic welding, and office product packaging and assembly.
