SECU Family House on the Richard J. Reynolds III and Marie M.

We are a 501(c)(3) providing affordable lodging and support services in a caring environment for referred adult patients and/or their caregivers who travel to Winston-Salem, NC, for medical treatment. Reynolds Campus is located on 8.8 acres of property on 1970 Baldwin Lane (at the end of Hospice Lane) in Winston-Salem, a site convenient to both Forsyth Medical Center and Wake Forest Baptist Medica

l Center. Features include:

45 guest rooms, each with two queen beds and private bath
Common living, dining, and kitchen areas
Chapel for meditation
Laundry facilities
Outdoor patio areas
Support from staff, volunteers and other families
Referrals from hospitals
$45 nightly fee

Programs:

-Overnight Program – Lodging and support for more than 4,000 guests a year
-Day Respite Program – For outpatients to rest in between treatments

We got photos back from Men Who Cook today and spotted these great ones of some of our volunteers. So the first thing we want to do is shout THANK YOU to ALL of our helpers! 🎉

Behind every great Men Who Cook moment was an army of 44 volunteers. That's a lot for one event, and we needed every single one!

From supporting other volunteers and greeting attendees to helping chefs and keeping things running smoothly all evening long, our volunteers played a critical role in our success. Their time, energy, and kindness helped create an experience that was fun for attendees, helpful for chefs, and incredibly meaningful for the Family House.

We are so grateful for each person who jumped in to help make Men Who Cook possible. Thank you for being part of our biggest event of the year! We absolutely could not do this without you. 💙

An amazing group of Wake Forest Law incoming students spent time volunteering at the Family House recently. What would have taken staff hours spread across multiple days to accomplish, they completed within a few short hours! 🕞

One of the really wonderful things that makes the Family House more than just a place to stay is our volunteer-led dinner service.

Serving dinner to our guests is love in action. It helps lighten their heavy load just a little and reminds patients and caregivers that our community cares. If your group (family, department, team, club, etc.) is looking for a service project, we hope you'll consider this opportunity! 💙

🍽️ Fast facts:
- Groups need 3-8 volunteers to serve dinner and drinks for 45-50 people
- Meals may be prepared in our kitchen (arrive as early as 3:30) or brought in ready to serve (arrive by 4:45)
- Dinners are served at 5:30, Monday through Thursday
- Groups are usually finished cleaning up by 6:30
