We were excited to come together today with 25 board and staff members from The Winston-Salem Foundation for a volunteer event. Together, we sorted thousands of books that will be distributed to local teachers by Educator Warehouse. Thank you to everyone who gave your time this morning!

We’re excited to partner with our friends NC Counts Coalition to host two conversations on proportional representation. Attendees will walk away with a better understanding of how our elected representatives could better reflect our community’s interests and aspirations. Everyone is welcome; no expertise needed! You’ll have the opportunity to meet neighbors, share your experiences, and consider what it means for our elected leaders to truly represent our communities.

Light refreshments will be provided, and a gift card will be given away at each session. The first will take place on Oct. 27th, and the second will be on Dec. 10th. To sign up for either session, click the link in our bio.

We were excited to come together with more than 90 employees from Gilbarco Veeder-Root this morning for several impactful volunteer projects. Together, we created 100 laundry soap kits for Catholic Charities Diocese of Charlotte, 300 Thanksgiving food kits for BackPack Beginnings, and 400 “calm down kits” for counselors with Guilford County Schools. Thank you to everyone who gave your time this morning, and to Gilbarco Veeder-Root for making these projects possible!

One more shout out to all of the students, parents, and community volunteers who showed up for our 9/11 disaster preparedness kit making event last week! The kits we made together have now been delivered to the Red Cross, and will go on to help individuals in our community in times of need.

Thank you to everyone who attended our 9/11 Day of Service! We had nearly 200 volunteers show up to pack 200 disaster preparedness kits for the Red Cross. After packing, we reflected on the 25th anniversary of 9/11 and wrote dozens of thank you cards for first responders in our community. Special thanks to the firefighters from Engine 9 for coming by.
