Pivot Ministry is excited to welcome two new members to our Board of Directors, Dr. Leigh Fritz and Liz Shepard.

Both bring a strong commitment to service, leadership, and creating meaningful opportunities for women in our community. Their professional expertise and personal dedication to empowering others will help strengthen Pivot's mission and the work ahead.

Dr. Leigh Fritz serves as Pharmacy Director at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist High Point Medical Center in High Point, North Carolina. Her commitment to Pivot is deeply connected to her faith and her passion for investing in women and families through encouragement, mentorship, and care. Through both her healthcare leadership and community service, she brings a thoughtful and compassionate perspective to the work of empowering women.

Liz R. Shepard, a Winston-Salem native, serves as Assistant Director for Academic Initiatives, Curriculum, and Assessment at Winston-Salem State University and co-founded RebelEd Co. Her commitment to Pivot is rooted in building sustainable, community-centered solutions that help women feel supported, connected, and empowered. Liz also currently supports Pivot as Social Media Manager and serves on the fundraising committee.

📣 We’re Hiring: Administrative Coordinator (Part-Time)
Are you highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about supporting meaningful work behind the scenes?
Pivot Ministry is looking for a dependable, mission-minded Administrative Coordinator to help support the daily operations of our ministry. This part-time position (approximately 20 hours per week) works closely with the Executive Director to help keep programs, volunteers, communications, and events running smoothly.
This is a great opportunity for someone who:

It’s Friday, and today we’re celebrating the heartbeat of Pivot Ministry...our incredible volunteers! Every single act of service, big or small, helps create lasting change in the lives of the women we serve.

Our volunteers show up in powerful and meaningful ways.

✨ Building Relationships
Mentors walk alongside participants in long-term one-on-one relationships. Volunteer coordinators help everything run smoothly, and outreach ambassadors connect with referral sources and welcome new participants into the program. Relationships truly are at the core of transformation.

📚 Leading Classes & Growth Opportunities
Volunteers teach life skills and job readiness, lead Bible studies, and facilitate workshops that equip women with tools for a stronger future.

🙏 Providing Spiritual Support
Prayer team members and coordinators faithfully uplift and encourage participants, offering strength and hope through every season.

🤝 Serving on Committees
Volunteers lend their time and expertise in finance, fundraising, governance, and human resources, helping guide and sustain the mission.

🎊 Making Events Happen
From preparing and serving meals to planning events, supporting alumnae through Pivot Plus, organizing celebrations, and stepping in when unexpected needs arise, volunteers create moments of joy and connection.

🗂️ Supporting Administration
Volunteers provide office support, help write and edit documents, assist with newsletters, manage social media, and bring fresh ideas that keep things moving forward.

💡 Giving Financial & Professional Support
Donors, fundraisers, grant writers, researchers, and advisors contribute resources, insight, and connections that help expand the impact of Pivot Ministry.

Pivot Ministry was honored to attend the Community Wellness Expo in support of National Impact Day of Service, hosted by The Links Incorporated chapters of Winston-Salem, Greensboro, and Grandiflora.

This impactful event offered preventative health screenings, workforce development opportunities, resource access, a wellness marketplace, and so much more, truly uplifting our community!

We’re proud of our leadership presence, with Executive Director Joanne Henley joined by Musette Nesbit and Tina Flowers (President, WS Chapter of The Links), who also serves as a Pivot Board Members.

Grateful to be part of such meaningful work! 💙

Today, we are celebrating the amazing Michelle Minnich and her work at Pivot Ministry! Michelle serves as Pivot's Director of Programming and Community Engagement. She connects with women in class and after they graduate, trains mentors, coordinates instructors, schedules lunch, communicates with community partners, and shares a multitude of talents with all of us connected to Pivot! Today is Michelle's 5th Anniversary with Pivot!
