We’ve got a Southern steam doubleheader on an excursion tonight as we approach Winston-Salem station on an ancient wooden trestle.

Come visit our layout in Winston-Salem, NC on Tuesdays between 7-9pm, and mark your calendars for the Southbound Model Train Expo next weekend at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds. 300 vendor tables, and several operating layouts. Fun for the entire family regardless of whether you are a beginner or even an experienced modeler wanting craftsman structures. We’ve got something for everyone!

It must be NYC passenger night at the club again.

We’re just over a week away from the Southbound Model Train Expo at the Winston-Salem, NC fairgrounds. 300 vendor tables, operating layouts, and even more trains about an hour away in Spencer at the NC Transportation Museum for the America 250 Locomotive Celebration. Come out and see trains big and small.

We have been working hard on the layout. Among other projects are some scenery updates. Some of the oldest parts of the layout date to about 1995, and the scenery did also. After 30 years, it needed a refresher.

So, as time permits, we have been going through a couple of feet at a time adding some new scenery and texture in places.

Come out and see the layout on Tuesday evenings between 7-9pm, and mark your calendars for the Southbound Model Train Expo on August 29-30 at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds.

We are now 100% booked with over 65 vendors, 300 vendor tables and 3 layouts for the Southbound Model Train Expo. It’s going to be great show, so make sure you add it to your calendar, and share with friends! Come out and bring the family. Children 12 and under are free with adult admission.

Among other things, we have scenery refreshing happening on the layout. Some of these earlier sections date back to the 1990s, and after 30 years, they are beginning to show their age. So, as time permits, you might see an update or two to some familiar scenes!

As always, stop by on Tuesday evening between 7-9pm, and make plans to come to the Southbound Model Train Expo at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds on August 29-30. 300 tables of any model railroad item you can probably think of!

The Spencer America 250 event is becoming a big deal. Come down for Spencer and make a side trip to Winston-Salem for the Southbound Model Train Expo. 300 tables. Layouts. Everything you can ask for that isn’t 1:1 scale!!

The short line roster spans the country, from regional operators to small carriers with deep ties to their local communities.

We’re not sure how a Shay got on the mainline, but here we are. The passenger trains will be running on a delayed schedule today!

It’s going to be a great weekend for trains in North Carolina in August. Come see the big trains and the small trains. The Southbound Model Train Expo is a 45 minute straight drive via interstates from the Spencer/Salisbury area.
