A heartfelt thank you to Jim and Mary Taylor for their incredible generosity and $20,000 gift to Second Harvest! ❤️

Last Monday, we were honored to be one of seven local organizations selected to receive a donation from their donor-advised fund at the Kernersville Foundation at a special gathering at the Kernersville Auto Museum, founded by Jim. Many of the organizations receiving support are also valued partners of Second Harvest, making this generosity even more meaningful.

Thank you, Jim and Mary, for supporting Second Harvest and the network of organizations working together to build a stronger, healthier community. We are incredibly grateful for your generosity and commitment to giving back!

Come see us TODAY alongside WXLV ABC 45 for the Feeding the Piedmont Food Drive! 🛒❤️

We’re out at Food Lion at 3935 Brian Jordan Pl. in High Point until 6:00 pm, and we’d love to see you! Today is the LAST DAY of the food drive, and we’re incredibly thankful to and ABC45 for their partnership and support all week long.

Community members can donate nonperishable food at participating Food Lion locations — check the list in the comments to find one near you!

It's time for the Harvest of the Month... PEPPERS! 🌶️

Fun Facts:
• Peppers are an excellent source of vitamin C.
• Red peppers are a good source of vitamin B6, which helps your body build healthy blood cells.
• Red and orange peppers contain lots of beta-carotene, which help keep the eyes, skin, and whole body healthy.

What to Look For:
• Look for firm peppers that have thick, shiny, smooth skin and green stems.
• Choose sweet peppers with a solid color.
• Store whole peppers in a sealed plastic bag in the refrigerator. Wrap cut peppers in plastic and store for up to three days.

A HUGE thank you to our friends at Food Lion Feeds for spending the day with us at Second Harvest! 💙

They showed up in a BIG way, rolling up their sleeves and volunteering throughout our facilities. We’re so grateful for the many Food Lion team members who continue to show up and make a difference.

We’re also incredibly thankful for their partnership this week with WXLV ABC 45 for Feeding the Piedmont! From Monday, August 17, through Friday, August 21, community members can donate nonperishable food at participating Food Lion locations listed in the comments.
