Happy Hump Day!! I know that I constantly post about getting mammograms and doing self-breast exams, but there are other things that play a role in prevention. Diet and exercise play a major role in reducing the risk of getting breast cancer!! Studies have shown that 80% of cancers of the large bowel, prostate, and BREAST are related specifically to diet!! So reduce the fried, high fat, and high calorie foods and increase colorful fruits and vegetables. To increase your exercise, visit the YWCA of Winston-Salem: Gateway Center Page and learn about membership opportunities and other fun events!!

Happy Monday Facebook!! The Holidays are approaching which creates the perfect opportuity for you to spread the word about early detection via mammograms and self-breast exams. You'll be surrounded by family and friends and what better way to express your love for them than to provide information that could help save their lives! Be creative and maybe come up with some games to jump start this conversation.

Enjoy your week!! ~ Sister, Speak!

Sister Speak wants you to start your weekend with a quote from Magda Trocme. “Remember in your life there will be lots of circumstances that will need a kind of courage, a kind of decision of your own, not about other people but about yourself.” Let's remember this when it is time for us to do our monthly Self-Breast Exams and yearly Mammograms. It takes courage to make decision just for yourself!

Have a safe and wonderful weekend!
