On Monday, October 19, our Lower School students will meet Jonathan Miller, author of "The Adventures of Sammy the Wonder Dachshund" series! Through stories and a look at art and publishing, he’ll help students discover how an idea becomes a book, and spark possibilities for their own creativity.

There are field trips, and then there are FIELD TRIPS! Thanks to the Qubein Children's Museum for such an incredible day of exploration and learning for our kindergartners earlier this month! From legos and climbing to making human circuits and becoming astronauts - and everything in between, this was an awesome day for our little ones. And thank you to all the parents who were able to join us for this fun day!

Life Science took flight for our 7th Grade Honors class! 🦉

Our Defenders recently visited the Carolina Raptor Center in Huntersville, where the Raptor Trail features eagles, hawks, owls, falcons, and vultures. It was an extraordinary opportunity to connect classroom learning with the natural world.

Exploring these birds’ unique adaptations and roles in their ecosystems deepens our understanding of these amazing creatures and appreciation for the intricacy of God’s creation. It's a joy to see how learning beyond the classroom helps curiosity grow!

Congratulations to Julian Lackey and Grace Hemphill, named National Merit Commended Students! Their PSAT/NMSQT performance places them among the program’s top 50,000 scorers nationwide. This is a remarkable honor recognizing their academic promise.

How can we help your child become a more confident learner and a stronger critical thinker?

On October 13, Director of North American Programs for the Feuerstein Institute, Dr. Jeanne Zehr, will join our families to speak directly to that question.

Carve out an hour on your last evening of Fall Break and join us for an evening with Dr. Jeanne Zehr, on Tuesday, October 13, at 6 p.m. in the school chapel. You'll hear about the teaching practices SCS is expanding throughout our school, why we believe its necessary and what this can mean for each SCS student.

Sometimes the best teacher is just a grade ahead! 📚✨

Mrs. Logan’s kindergarteners and Mrs. Bangco’s first-graders teamed up as reading buddies to practice their skills and share their favorite stories together.

At Salem Christian, moments like these build confidence, foster connection, and remind us that learning to read is just the beginning—learning to lift each other up is the heart of the Salem experience.
