Play Music on the Porch Day is an international event held on the last Saturday of August (August 29, 2026). Musicians and music lovers worldwide step outside onto porches, lawns, or streets to play and share music, promoting community unity and peace.

How to Participate:

Gather outside on a porch, in a yard, on a sidewalk, in a park, or anywhere all are welcome. Play an instrument, and sing together!

System Pressure Advisory ⚠️ Boil Water Notice

The water consumers of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Utilities in Forsyth County are experiencing periods of low pressure and outages in the distribution system due to a significant water main break. See the map in the image below, at the link in bio, or in comments for impacted areas. Periods of low or no pressure in the distribution system increases the potential for back siphonage and introduction of bacteria into the water system.

Therefore, when water service is restored, consumers are advised to boil all water used for human consumption (including drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation) or use bottled water.

Vigorous boiling for one (1) minute should kill any disease-causing organisms that may be present in the water.

Water customers are strongly urged to conserve water whenever possible. This advisory remains in effect until further written notification is issued. Advisory issued July 29, 2026.
