Greetings and Happy New Year
The start of a new year is a time of reflection and reinvention. And so, it is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our Task Force Leader, Caryl Lumpp, who will retire from the Chicagoland Ride for Kids this year with our gratitude.
In 1999, Caryl attended her first ever Ride for Kids event at the Allstate Insurance Northbrook campus as a rider. The following year, she worked the registration table as a volunteer. Over the course of the next 25 years, Caryl would continue to double down on her support and dedication to Ride For Kids and the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. From recruiting volunteers, to engaging the motorcycle community, to eventually coordinating the entire ride, Caryl’s tireless enthusiasm in promoting the Chicagoland Ride for Kids has been an inspiration, and we will sorely miss her leadership.
At this time, we do not have a replacement for Caryl, nor is a 2025 Chicagoland Ride for Kids planned. If you would like to find out how you can get involved locally, either with Ride for Kids or PBTF, please reach out through the foundation’s Contact Us page at https://curethekids.org/contact/
As we move forward into 2025, the mission remains the same: Cure all the kids and wipe out pediatric brain cancer once and for all. We encourage you to continue supporting the cause by participating in another Ride for Kids event across the country or by donating directly to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. Please follow the PBTF and RFK national pages to stay current on all planned events.
