💐 Celebrating Legacy with Nature’s Finest Blooms! 💐

On Thursday, CCDS had the distinct honor of presenting seven beautiful floral baskets to our incredible "7 Over 70" awardees @ Senior Services Inc. of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County. These phenomenal individuals have spent decades making a profound, lasting impact on our community.

As the proverb says, "The true meaning of life is to plant trees under whose shade you do not expect to sit." Our honorees have spent a lifetime planting seeds of kindness, leadership, and service. It is only fitting that we honor their enduring legacy with the vibrant, resilient beauty of nature. Just like these flowers, their contributions continue to bloom and inspire everyone around them.

This beautiful tribute was a true labor of love from the community, for the community. Every basket was filled with local treasures:
🌸 Spectacular dahlias grown with dedication by the Central Carolina Dahlia Society.
🌹 Stunning roses and greenery from the Winston-Salem Rose Society (a huge thank you to James Richardson , Nan Janeway, and Kim B.)

A special shout-out to Medi Home Health for generously providing the gorgeous baskets that held these arrangements.

Every stem was arranged with absolute love, meticulous care, and deep gratitude by our very own Sherly. Seeing these elements come together to honor our local heroes was an absolute delight.

Thank you to the awardees for making our world a brighter place, and thank you to everyone who poured their heart into making this recognition so unforgettable!

Wow, what a wonderful Wednesday!

CCDS members came together to create gorgeous floral centerpieces for the "Seven over 70" event at Senior Services.

Thanks to an incredibly generous flower donation from Whole Foods Market, alongside beautiful homegrown dahlias and other florals from our own talented members, they were absolutely flooded with flowers!

Our members arranged 40+ centerpieces and still had so many vibrant blooms left over that they were able to make extra small arrangements to brighten the day for local Meals on Wheels participants!

A massive thank you to Jimmy Speas Linda ErnstPam AndersonSara NewmanSherly, Stephanie, and Alyssa for leading the way and making this event such a fun, exciting, and inspiring success! 💐✨

☀️ What a spectacular summer picnic! 🍉🎶

A massive thank you to Sherry Anderson & Tony, for opening up their fabulous home to us! Tony did an absolutely amazing job playing music for everyone. 🎹✨

It was a hot and humid day, but we had the best time sharing food, music, gorgeous flowers, and, of course, our famous raffle drawing hosted by Olivia! 🎟️🎉

We didn't just exchange stories—we also swapped recipes! It turns out our members are not just amazing dahlia growers, but incredible chefs, too. 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

We hope everyone is having a great summer. See you all next month for our Bloom Bar, where we will be absolutely flooded with beautiful Dahlia blooms! 🌸❤️

How are your gardens holding up after that scorching, wet June and July weather? ☀️🌧️ Hopefully, everything is safely in the ground, and you can finally sit back, relax, and wait for those spectacular blooms to show off their beauty!

🚨You are officially invited to the CCDS Annual Member Picnic! 🎉

📅 When: Saturday, August 15th at 12:30 PM

🏡 Where: Sherry Anderson’s home (Outdoor event)

We have a packed and exciting afternoon lined up for everyone! 🐓🌸🌳
