🌸 Call for Dahlias: Flower Donations for Senior Services This Week!

Hi everyone,

Sarah from Senior Services reached out to us looking for dahlia donations for their Alzheimer’s Care event on Friday, October 23rd!

Another group will assemble the floral arrangements, and our CCDS member, Sherly, has committed to donating one large centerpiece. However, we are hoping to gather a few more beautiful dahlia blooms to help fill out the rest of the arrangements.

If you are willing to donate any dahlias, please email Sarah Wright directly at [email protected] to coordinate a drop-off.

Drop-off details:
• Preferred: Deliver them directly to Senior Services @ 2895 Shorefair Dr NW Winston Salem
• Alternative: If you cannot make it there, you may drop them off at Sherly’s house (zip code 27104) on Wednesday, October 21st. Alternatively, she can arrange to pick them up from you. You can reach Sherly via email at [email protected].

🎉 CCDS Members Shine at the Carolina Classic Fair! 🎉

The second dahlia show was just as breathtaking as the first. We are incredibly proud to share that Central Carolina Dahlia Society (CCDS) members swept the "Best of Show" categories! Massive congratulations to everyone for these fantastic garden achievements!

A special shoutout goes to 8-year-old Asher! He won:

What an unbelievable accomplishment! 🌟

Have you stopped by the Flower Show at the Carolina Classic Fair yet to see the spectacular dahlia submissions? 🌸

These incredible blooms were submitted this past Friday, showcasing the immense talent, dedication, and hard work of our amazing local dahlia growers!🏅

🌿 Mark your calendars: On Wednesday, October 7th, a brand-new selection of fresh dahlias will be put on display for the second half of the show! They will remain featured until the fair ends on October 11th, so plan a walkthrough to see these incredible local creations up close.

A huge thank you and congratulations to all the wonderful growers who participated and shared their stunning gardens with us. You truly make our area a more beautiful place! 💕

Our 2026 CCDS Dahlia Bloom Bar was an absolute blast. A massive thank you to everyone who joined us. Your arrangements turned out beautifully, and we are already counting down the days until next year's event!

💡 One of our members recently had to transport 13 arrangements all at once. Her secret weapon? Bubble wrap! She lined them safely in her trunk and used layers of bubble wrap in between each vase to lock them into place. They arrived completely flawless! And she highly recommends using a Vase Brace as well!
