The Darryl Hunt Project for Freedom and Justice Upon release from wrongfully serving 20 years in prison, Darryl Hunt used his own income to found the Darryl Hunt Project to be "a voice for the voiceless."

The Darryl Hunt Project for Freedom and Justice seeks to educate the public about flaws in the criminal justice system and advocate for those wrongfully incarcerated as a result of those shortcomings. Under Hunt's leadership, the Project was committed to serving the needs of those returning to society after incarceration. ston-Salem. The Project closed in 2010 as Mr. Hunt went on to direct his advocacy towards other efforts, though we maintain some of its social media to continue to spread Darryl's message. We mourn the loss of this tremendous hero, but are heartened to know that, through the words and lives of so many of you, his legacy lives on.
