Today, the Lam Museum of Anthropology visited our 8th grade students for an engaging lesson on the history and experiences of Indigenous peoples in North Carolina. Students explored life before European contact, European contact and its lasting effects, assimilation, segregation, citizenship, laws, and contemporary issues. We are grateful for opportunities that help our students deepen their understanding of North Carolina’s history and the people who have shaped it.
