🎓 This Winning Wednesday, we are incredibly proud to celebrate Dr. DeShanna Johnson, a Dream Team Advisor, one of our Lead Mentors, and a true example of purpose, perseverance, and impact. ✨

Dr. Johnson has earned her PhD in Social Work from the University of Kentucky, maintaining a remarkable 4.0 GPA throughout her entire doctoral journey. Her accomplishment is a powerful testament that nothing is impossible with faith, resilience, hard work, and determination.

From the very beginning, Dr. Johnson has been part of the Dream Team Foundation family. She has poured into others with steadfast support, wisdom, encouragement, and an unwavering commitment to helping transform lives. Whether mentoring youth, uplifting peers, or impacting communities far beyond our city and state, she continuously leads with strength, grace, and purpose.

🎓🤩 This week, we proudly celebrate Se’maj, a true reflection of excellence, leadership, and legacy in motion. A graduate of North Carolina Central University, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Summa Cum Laude, demonstrating an incredible commitment to academic excellence and achievement.

👩🏾‍⚖️ Throughout her collegiate journey, Se’maj served as Chief Justice of the Student Judicial Board, was a Chancellor’s Cycle of Success Scholar, and actively participated in the North Carolina Student Legislature, all while proudly representing Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated as a member of the Divine 9. Her impact extends far beyond campus, with over 500 hours of community service, and she brought energy and spirit as a dedicated North Carolina Central University Cheerleader. 📣 Se’maj embodies what it means to lead with grace, serve with intention, and excel in every space she enters. She has truly soared as an Eagle and we are incredibly proud of all she has accomplished and excited for what’s ahead as she continues to make her dreams a reality. 🖤💫

🤩 It is a true honor to recognize Dwayne, an exceptional young leader who continues to shine both in the classroom and on the court. 🏀✨

He’s making an incredible impact as a proud member of his school’s State Championship basketball team, in addition to competing at a high level with his AAU team, but his commitment to growth and achievement extends far beyond academics and athletics. Dwayne has been inducted into Top Teens of America— an honor that reflects his leadership, service, and strong character. As a participant in Crosby Scholars, he continues to invest in his future with intention and focus, positioning himself for long-term success.

We were honored to support the Kiwanis Club 🥞 Pancake Jamboree, a cherished community tradition that brings people together over breakfast to uplift and invest in local youth initiatives! 🩵

The Dream Team showed up in full force, with both our D.T.L.A, scholars and dedicated DTF volunteers stepping in to serve, support, and give back. From behind-the-scenes help to hands-on service, it was a true reflection of community in action.🫱🏼‍🫲🏾

We’re grateful for the opportunity to partner with organizations like The Kiwanis Club who continue to pour into our community. Together, we’re making a meaningful impact, one act of service at a time. 🖤💫

Storytelling & Soul 🎭 This past Saturday, The Dream Team had the privilege of attending North Carolina Black Repertory Company’s production of The Legend of Buster Neal, written and directed by award-winning playwright and director Jackie Alexander!

The powerful production explored themes of family, the weight of our decisions, legacy, and the importance of breaking generational patterns. It was moving, thought-provoking, and beautifully performed.

Our group even had the incredible opportunity to speak with members of the cast following the show, making the experience even more meaningful! 🖤

A tremendous thank you to the North Carolina Black Repertory Company for hosting us and creating such an unforgettable experience for Dream Team.✨
