The HLWW Lakers PTA is fundraising to purchase a chest freezer for the Laker Pantry, which helps provide food to Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted high school students (and their siblings and families) in need. The freezer would help expand options for meals that can be sent home with students to include health proteins, meat, cheese, dairy and more.

They are hoping to raise $1,000 from area businesses to purchase the chest freezer and any additional needed shelving/storage for the Laker Pantry, so that they can approach the broader Laker community to seek food donations.

One in four households with children in Minnesota don't have access to enough food to meet basic needs, and unfortunately that is true right here in our community as well.

🎉 The Winsted Summer Festival is almost here — and we’re thrilled to be running the Popcorn, Ice Cream, and Root Beer Float Stand on Saturday! 🍿🍦🥤

We’re still looking for a few helping hands, especially for the afternoon and evening shifts (1–3 PM, 5–7 PM, and 9–11 PM). Volunteering is easy, fun, and a great way to support our school community!

This newly formed volunteer group is designed to partner with the City of Winsted to assist in the beautification & maintenance of areas like Mill Reserve Park, Winsted Lake Promenade, and City Hall.
