Wayne Tower grew up in Millbury, Massachusetts, where he learned early the importance of hard work, family, and community. After marrying his wife, Mary, they built a life together in Dudley, raising their daughters, Meaghan and Katie, in the home they still cherish today. For more than 35 years, Wayne dedicated himself to his school community, becoming known for his reliability, humility, and quiet leadership. He’s the kind of person who never seeks recognition, yet leaves a lasting impact through his steady presence, genuine care, and willingness to always lend a hand.

That same generosity extends far beyond his professional life. Whether fixing a furnace, repairing a door, or simply showing up when someone needs help, Wayne has always been just a phone call away. Outside of work, you’ll find him in his vegetable garden and pumpkin patch, hosting family gatherings, or enjoying time by the coast with fresh oysters and a cold beer. A lifelong hockey fan, he proudly supports the Boston Bruins while honoring his late father’s love for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Above all, Wayne is most proud of the life he and Mary have built, one grounded in family, generosity, and community, and the legacy of those values being passed down to the next generation.

Congratulations Wayne and we look forward to celebrating you on Saturday!!!!

Since joining the Marching Band in eighth grade, Cindy Snow has devoted herself wholeheartedly to the DCRSD Music Programs. At just 23 years old, she became Band Director at Shepherd Hill — and quickly proved she was ready to build something extraordinary. In a short time, she expanded the Marching Band from 30 to 80 students and co-designed innovative shows that propelled the program to its first-ever All-State /National Championship in 2006 — the first of many First Place finishes to come.

In 2011, Cindy transitioned to Dudley Middle School to lead and grow its music program. Under her direction, the school now boasts a thriving, gold medal–winning Jazz Band of 33 students, an award-winning Color Guard of 30 students, a dynamic Drumline program, and an active Tri-M Music Honor Society chapter.

While these accomplishments are remarkable, what truly sets Cindy apart is her unwavering commitment to students and the district. She consistently goes above and beyond to ensure every program succeeds. Most recently, when a sudden leadership gap arose within the Shepherd Hill Music Program, Cindy stepped in without hesitation. On short notice, she completed the Shepherd Hill Marching Band season and is currently directing the Shepherd Hill Jazz Band — all while continuing her responsibilities at Dudley Middle School.

For the past 27 years, our district has been profoundly enriched by Cindy’s tenacity, leadership, and vision. Her influence has shaped our music programs into an integral part of our district’s culture and pride.

We look forward to celebrating Cindy on March 28 at our Heroes Among Us Dinner Gala.
