Mark Morris was a mental health counselor in the Lewiston-Altura School District who touched the lives of all who knew him. Today, his legacy lives on through the Mark Morris Youth Fund.

Like so many others, we are saddened by the loss of Dolly Parton. Since 2020, the Winona Community Foundation has been proud to support the Friends of the Winona Public Library to help fund the Dolly Parton Imagination Library program in Winona. Over the past six years, more than 2,500 children in Winona have received free books thanks to their partnership!

We were saddened to hear about the recent passing of Gary Mills, a long-time educator and coach in Lewiston-Altura. In 2022, a scholarship fund was established at WCF in Gary's honor (Gary Mills Scholarship Fund) to award $500 annually to a Lewiston-Altura High School graduating senior who excelled in academics, athletics and community during their high school career. "His legacy lives on in the students he inspired, the people whose lives he touched, and the family he so deeply loved."

Ready Set School works to ensure all eligible K-12 students in Winona County have the basic necessities for school. Donations help provide the backpacks, school supplies, and clothing for kids in need.

Habitat for Humanity serving Winona County's new equipment-hauling trailer is helping do great work thanks to a $7,500 grant from the Winona Community Foundation. Habitat helps low-income families, seniors, and individuals with disabilities across Winona County to both obtain and maintain safe, healthy homes.
