We aime to be a collaborative, non-professional and self-organized musical event that can allow us to be in harmony with the flow of life and maintaining a grounded space. As we share our own unique rhythm and play along, this can be as much of a emotional release, by being active in the circle, as it can be healing experience by standing outside the circle while tapping our feet or clapping along
the rhythm. As we share in this circle the spirit and magical rhythms expressed through the drum beats, this forms an invisible link within each of the people in the circle that cuts through any form of social construct like race, age, culture, gender or religion. Many people don't realize how important rhythm plays a role in the human consciousness as a way of connect with other people who you might not share same ideologies and physical attribute. Rhythm is a universal language/ mother tongue that brings all of us into a state of equal footing with each other and therefore making great connections. About our drumming guide, Katwa Lance Ngari:
Katwa had a Djembe Drum that reignited a flame that was much needed to himself ,those around him and it grew to be felt across my community. In 2015-16 ,with the support and assistance of a Local Non -Profit, initiated a Free to the public, Community Educational, African-Drumming Class that went in two ,4 month sessions in that calendar year. This class opened an opportunity for the community to engage with the increasingly growing diverse peoples of the area. It also fostered that well-deserved community engagement that every city needs to address or fill that gap that our other walks-of-life may not have that environment to foster. The seven regions, around the SE Minnesota area is a good geographical area to have hybrid inter-cultural engagements with broader groups of our local-global citizens may converge in a time when humanity , itself is being challenged each day . "It is by meeting the many peoples residing in this humbling region that the urge to revisit the Drum -Circle in a Multi-Cultural perspective that we are initiating a group to converge and share, where everyone regardless of experience is a student and simultaneously a teacher, a visitor, a contributor, a player of that natural instrument , the human beat; that's physically represented by the constant heart beat, we all have" Dates and times may differ since this group still under it's infancy stage and so we ask for your input to make this more accommodating to our members.
*Donations are welcome. These contributions will go towards the place that will be hosting us or the guide. No worries if you can't contribute with a donation, we would still love to have you participate!
