🐴💚 A Special Day at Healing Reins! 💚🐴

Members of HVMHC's Expression Group recently had the opportunity to visit Healing Reigns in Dakota, Minnesota, and it was an experience to remember!

Our participants enjoyed spending time outdoors, connecting with the horses, and learning more about the incredible work Healing Reins does in our community. The visit provided opportunities for reflection, connection, and personal growth while experiencing the calming and therapeutic presence of these amazing animals.

Healing Reins is an equine-assisted services program that helps individuals build confidence, strengthen communication skills, improve emotional well-being, and develop important life skills through structured interactions with horses. Their supportive environment creates meaningful experiences that can have a lasting impact.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the staff, volunteers, and horses at Healing Reins for welcoming our group and sharing the many benefits of equine-assisted services. Thank you for helping create such a positive and memorable day!

Please join us in welcoming Emily Lagerman to Hiawatha Valley Mental Health Center as a Children's Behavioral Health Practitioner at our Winona (Sarnia Square) location!

Emily chose to join HVMHC because she felt our mission and values aligned with her own. As she looked to transition from the special education field, she saw HVMHC as a natural fit and an exciting opportunity to continue supporting children and families in a new way.

What Emily is most passionate about in the mental health field is working with youth to build skills and strategies that help them succeed at school, in their communities, and in everyday life.

Outside of work, Emily enjoys spending time outdoors with her friends and her two dogs, Vito and Nellie. Whether they're exploring parks, splashing in creeks, or finding new places to run and play, she loves making the most of time outside.

One of Emily's favorite memories from the past year was welcoming her puppy, Nellie, into the family! 🐾

We're excited to have Emily on the HVMHC team and look forward to the positive impact she'll make in the lives of the youth and families we serve. Be sure to give her a warm welcome!

Please join us in welcoming Kristi Heftman to Hiawatha Valley Mental Health Center as a Receptionist at our Winona (Sarnia Square) location!

Kristi joined HVMHC while looking for a new opportunity and was excited about the chance to be part of an organization dedicated to helping others.

What inspires her most about working in the mental health field is helping people get better and lead a more normal life.

When she's not at work, Kristi enjoys walking her dog, reading books, and spending quality time with her husband and boys. One of her favorite memories from the past year was taking a family trip to Hawaii! 🌺

We're excited to have Kristi as part of the HVMHC team. Be sure to say hello and give her a warm welcome!
