On June 6th we held the Winona Firefighters 5k. Beautiful weather and the route over the Interstate bridge was a perfect addition. A huge thank you to all of our sponsors, as well as everyone who came out to run/walk and the spectators for their support. The money raised goes to MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Association).

Last month two of our members presented the first ever "Local 575 Scholarship." The scholarship was given to a Winona Senior High School senior who has an interest and possibly a future career in Emergency Services.

This year's recipient, Chase, was also one of the students in the first "Firefighter Basics" course offered at WSHS this year.

Congratulations to WFD’s seven new part-time firefighters!

Over the past 5 months Assistant Chief Czaplewski has put in countless hours teaching our newest part-time firefighters how to be the best public servants possible. This morning they completed their initial training and will soon be responding to emergencies. Congratulations to you all!
